Really easy job taking aside the issue of whether plastic is really a good idea for the sump, I have to say its the easiest in 25 years of spanning that I've had a sump on and off. I noticed when I did the oil change 6 months ago that's the sump bolts and level sensor on the Wife's R Wagon were somewhat wet. I cleaned it all off and told her to tell me if it ever threw an oil light. Its done it once albeit when checked wasn't particularly low. Just been under for a Pre MOT check and it looks exactly the same again. It appears to be coming from the sump gasket which with the plastic sump I believe is a rubber gasket rather than RTVed? Is this a case of they all do that or should I be concerned Doesn't seem to be a big job to change it if needed?

Thanks Don Seem to have fixed it now touch wood due to the erratic nature of the fault I was expecting it to be an ECU of some kind. However OBD11 allows you to self test the mirrors by telling the ECU what you want it to do. I ran checks on both mirrors for fold, and adjust in all directions and they worked perfectly. I have the weirdest issue with the exterior mirror controls Wife has a Mk7 Golf R, which she tells me the mirror controls aren't working Well she's correct but its more complex. Control set to 0 - Joystick does nothing (as expected) Control set to L or R - Joystick still does nothing Control set to Fold - Mirrors don't fold but the Joystick operates the left hand mirror, However oddly left on the stick moves the mirror out, and down moved it in Anyone experienced this strange behaviour before?

Don, I completely agree. Alas the wife whose car it is just a smidgeon impatient! I managed to find the sensor on Amazon prime for £31 and free returns so it was a case of quickest route to resolution and least amount of earache. so far so good. Whilst I'm not 100% confident, the amount of journeys its done since swapping the sensor without incident is looking promising.

Been almost a year since I posted and the R has been impressing me daily with its abilities. It was a bit old so I put a shiny new Exide AGM in, and recoded the battery accordingly (Fleece) For a couple of days it behaved, but its now back again I'm currently thinking an electrical issue, maybe ground?, loose connection? Alternator? As they are intermittent, too wide spread and seem to be signal issue related rather than a particular problem. Anyone experience similar and point me in the right direction? thanks in advance

well interestingly LLParts sent me an item with teh correct part number stamped on it, but its cheap rubber rather than plastic and doesn't even look close to correct That will be going back then

theres supposedly 2 mods, change the response to linear and then remove the boost limiting in 1st and 2nd

my S8 is even worse, the full on slush box has no concept of what engine its attached to so its reaction is to drop 2 gears even when wafting if you give it a little throttle, makes for somewhat frantic motorway lane changing

you may be right and it was the same with the Bose, i didn't notice any real volume differences in practice

I have no experience in changing anything on the Dynaudio, but as a general point many said the same about the awful Bose in a 911 I used to have. changing the speakers to Focals Access range made a huge difference I also stuffed the plastic sub with speaker wadding which made a huge difference
