Has anyone with an early build 8.5 managed to receive any firmware update vie the OTA function yet? I get the occasional app update, but that’s it.

That is correct. Since having the steering wheel buttons changed, I have had two instances of the paddle shifters not working. Same issue as before where it’ll kick the gearbox from manual into sport.

A new gremlin has reared its head. Noticed a couple of weeks ago when skipping music track that the menu for whatever is displayed in the centre of the instrument cluster would appear. Given that I’ve recently had the steering wheel modules replaced I initially thought it was them at fault considering I am still having the manual mode issue. Interestingly, when I use the infotainment screen to skip track, it would bring up the menu on the instrument cluster! 😂 It doesn’t happen all the time so further investigation required but I still suspect the modules have something to do with it as it has only started happening since they’ve been replaced.

Long overdue update. Still loving the car! Making use of the good weather the past couple of days and got round to fitting my matte screen protector for the big screen and swapping out the gloss centre console trims to the older style satin ones. Think I do prefer these! I also finally got my Racingline rear brace fitted.

Well, well, well. After having the new modules fitted at the start of the month, I have experienced the lockout issue again this morning. Worth noting, that there was no software update done on my car as part of the "fix". November '24 built car.

Just for the day. I’m still on version 2632. So far so good with the paddles but I’ve noticed a few times now when out driving, the notification icon appearing then disappearing in a split second. It sure what’s going on there.

It fits, just had to pop out the lower of the courtesy lights.

Just got my car back from having the replacement modules fitted. In the short time I’ve had it back I’ve done two 30 minutes drives both of which I predominantly used manual and no issue but it’s early days. I say this because interestingly, no mention of any software update was said and also I have no issue with missing modes or my heated steering wheel function, the later of which still works.

Yup, pretty much that. Life the flap and just pull. It pops out without much effort.

It was a private seller I'm afraid so just one set for sale.

Just went and ordered the other version of the wireless charging pad cover that cover the entire cubbyhole section. The bit with the flap just pulls out and it doesn't fit my iPhone 17 Pro Max with the Apple case on it. Also found what seems like a good deal on eBay for a full set of satin black centre console trim pieces. Had enough of the gloss black!

I am not sure if I have found a new niggle with my car. Ever since it’s got in for its service, any time I turn on the heated rear window I hear an awful click coming from the glove box area. In my limited investigation, this seems to be normal on the Mk7 platform but I am sure it never used to do this. Anyone’s car also doing this?

You may find the entire wheel was replaced due to damage of the original during the module replacement. Just a thought. If so, kudos to the dealer for doing so with no fuss rather than just leaving it and causing more of a headache!

My car was in for its 1st year service at the start of the month. They looked into the paddle issue which having found the TPI number earlier in this thread, my car was confirm to be covered under. Car goes back in on the 11th of March to have the new module(s) fitted. Will report back.

@aldfort yes I appreciate that. That being said I have seen some are on older hardware and on the 2768 update. More so on Seats however also Golf Rs/GTIs/CS, its the same infotainment system. It will be interesting to see what happens in a couple of weeks as my car is going in to have the updated steering wheel modules fitted due to the gear paddle lock out issue. Some have been reporting after having that done, the heated wheel functionality is gone therefore requiring a lengthy forced update. I imagine that will push it to the 2768 version.

This is the same as my Dad's, including the hardware versions. Mine is as attached.

I want to know if it’s possible to update the software on my car (late 74 plate UK) to the same as what’s on my dad’s new 75 plate car. His has more shortcut options for the infotainment such as being able to pin the speed limit awareness disable rather than simply the Assist option. I’ll need to look at what his software version is compared to mine.
