Yeah and residue extraction from the pads. Not a straight forward installation, had to cut some of the shield to fit our caliper and on the other side(where we have our pad wear sensor) it hits pretty bad. So I need to do some isolation or that sensor will burn for sure icarsoft cant code anything. Only basic stuff, like battery registration, electric parking brake service. But it can see alot live values for ex. brake pressure, misfires current and stored, chain slap its pretty much 4 pages of data I havent gone trough them all. I use it for some other non VW cars too. It is. Its not - Had a tiny bit of juddering while doing 30, I was told I am picky but when I checked I found the misfires that wont trigger epc but still not perfect spark. So I thought to swap 3 and 2 just to see if they followed. Alas number 3 coil was way past its life span and just broke as soon as I touched it. You can see these values in obd11 too I believe. -

Well. If I had kids I would be needing to explain why we never go on vacation. Now I just got to treat the misses somehow. Rear sway bar going on today but I am waiting for RS3 dust shields before I do discs and pads. I hear these are crème dela crème so really excited to try em out! -

Its not a real problem per say but I am curious was it on OEM dampers and springs? -

Correct.! Superpro. ID#: TRC5000 (https://superpro-suspension.com/eu/vag-strut-mount-kit-offset-with-extra-camber-9995-trc5000.html) Also not seen in picture front lower static bushing to add camber but I think I am going to save that for eventual TTRS arms. -

Still waiting on Bilsteins before I put these on, makes no sense to tear it all down just before having to do it again. -
I do live on the swedish country side and its not as narrow as brittish roads from what I´ve seen. (visited UK once lol). Could be something wrong with your radar. If you are going to the dealers try to capture issue on video is my best tip.

Haha yeah. Reminds me. We have a regular Golf of some sort at work and sometimes when we go over, what we think are dug down power cables, the front collision system suddenly brakes and we all get whiplashes and its hell let loose in the dash board. I have no trouble with the warnings on my own two VW tho. It popped once on me in the R and I think 2-3 times on the Tiguan on 5 year base. I think its just nature of the thing.

Yeah well I was just sitting in the car the other day with ignition on and screen off(multimedia off) mounting my catalyst 2 and i jumped and hit my head when Spotify started playing in the car speakers Good song but hell of a suprise.

I dont follow. I never wanted these but if I did it would not be possible in sweden as they are not the option to pick(not GTI nor R). Thats probably regulation issue with EU. Just suprised you could get a factory car with something thats usable You can probably get them from somewhere else.

Well. Its a crossroad right now. I am trying so hard not to spin away from the mantra "keep it simple, you want to drive this car as much as you can". Did you swap your level regulator arms or just re-calibrated level trough software - cause we cant do that yet 😕 Right now on the menu: H&R springs, with rear sway bar, superpro top mounts and camber bushing. And in my mind this is simple and I can restore it to OEM if I get tired and not lose to much money. I dont think my track times are limited by the oem dampers as much as experience. Car is fast enough, but needs to shed some weight and body roll. Or go full bananas with either KW V2 or R&T with dcc cancelation. I like KW cause of the top mounts. And its a track car so I dont really mind the stiff ride. But that means plunging a 10% of cars value on like a day . I do need brake change and new tyres. Edit: Cancelled the H&R springs ordered Bilstein Evo S and DCC cancelation kit -
Just got the car back from shop. I must say I think I had a gremlin without knowing about it. Last year(its a 2024 September) car when sitting on idle car had tiny vibrations, no RPM dependency more then 1-200 read by a tool, but I never thought anything about it. Just before winter rest I got a check engine light. Checked the code and it was P0068, activated just after service. Booked it in now before season starts and they changed the MAP sensor on the intake(i am not aware of any other MAP so wierd to say it like that) and re-calibrated the throttle and took a spin. They did something else that I forgot, maybe reset adaptations or something. Now. Its a completely different car. The idle is like a Rolls Royce. Car still pulls the same so no improvement on power but wow. I know they wont touch the car without the CEL but maybe this can help someone if you feel the car shakes more then it should on idle.

8.5R paddle (manual mode) fault thread

This is very weird way to approach the problem. Replacing the module is the first step from the manual that is out now.. (so I´ve heard). -

No, same - unless the eprom and the stuff is broke. I am told often its just the hydronic fluid that gets dirty and clogs the solenoids so they dont really "open" or close if I understand it correctly. Are we talking about same issue? Is there a motherboard problem I have missed? -

No, its still very much hesitant in its shifts. However my plan is to send it in for a rebuilded part from https://www.hellstengears.com/. -

I have nothing to compare to . Its wierd. Driving on the street car feels very uncomfortable and stiff while on track it feels like a truck and pictures do support the heavy body roll theory. It would be cool to either drive or get a ride in a non-dcc car. Most on MQB platform seem to cancel DCC and go for "dumb coilovers". Perhaps its the best way. I do like it simple but at some point its either street or track. Rear strut brace ordered either way with adjustable end links. And front top mounts just to save some rubber. Lowering springs maybe later in the summer, but I really dont want to mess to much with geometry at this point as I havent figured out how the TQV works on our car. New conti 7s and endless brake pads but more on that in the order thread -

Gotta make them conti 7s sweat and use all of the DCC Need to do something about that body roll too. -
Thats wierd. These are the ones that are available in Sweden: https://eprel.ec.europa.eu/screen/product/tyres/1863407?navigatingFrom=qr Is it something to do with you guys no longer being in EU and its ok with some worse "gas grade" but performance tyres?

Potenaza race tyres? Never heard of, are you sure these are not the club sport specials for GTI or something? I do have the 18" Bridgestone Potenza S005 from factory. I have DDC, I dont think bound/rebound of the dampers should affect the pressure. 225/40 R19 2.8 2.8 bar (2ppl) 235/35 R19 3.0 3.3 bar (5ppl lol)

Thats BS and dont accept that. At this stage they should know. -
Check the brakes. Easiest way is probably just touching the disc on one side and then the other. Cant see what else would produce heat to smell outside the turbo. Maybe the clutch disc, gearbox is on that side but I am not sure why it would generate excessive heat unless you are tuned Only was is FLIR camera if you can borrow one for cheap. It would give you a small hint where to look at least.

This littler bugger is marked on my car. I think this is where the dipstick should be. Not to add to injury; but its just a "screw on" with a O-ring around it, It should be the least path of resistance if PCV fails. Is this the "oil cap" they are referring to? Or the real oil filler cap? Keep an eye on it. But dont touch it, its brittle and if it breaks its a new one.

Does it turn on lowest setting after stopping, locking and then starting car again? The heated steering wheel? And a bonus question is if you have the Performance pack or not
