Yeah well I spoke to soon, have now had a call from my dealership and the car has arrived at the dealership and I’ve been given the reg just have to wait a few days for it to go onto the dvla website so I can get it insured

So I’ve chased my dealer and Volkswagen themselves for this and no one seems to have the document to send to me so I can sort out insurance even though it’s at the port. The only update they have is that it’s still at Grimsby awaiting transport and should be at the dealership Wednesday or Thursday and that’s when I’ll get the document

Might be worth chasing your dealer for an update? A few of us were build week 47/48 and a few of our cars are now currently at the UK port and should be on the way to the dealer ship soon. I was initially told a collection date for early Jan when I ordered but am now collecting 24th Dec

Ahhh okay! Thanks for the advice, I will definitely be looking into that then. Not too sure yet, I like the idea of changing the seatbelt colour or having a little blue in the car mats but something I need to look at once the car is here. Also, just called my dealership and my sales lady didn’t get an update on the system to say it was at Grimsby🤣 but I’ve been given a provisional collection day for Christmas Eve!

Out of curiosity, how come you’re replacing the window wipers straight away? I saw your early post about the wipers and stickers and I’m debating on having a little shop now but not sure what would look nice on a r-line

Random question, heard people mention the drive the deal and just gave it a look. Do they offer good discounts? I went through car wow and managed to to bluff a discount and a really good offer but have never heard of drive the deal until now and might be worth me double checking

I was looking at this earlier, it went to dock at Grimsby to which the status changed to ‘Constrained by her draught”. Did a google and think it means the tide was too shallow and risked getting stuck so looks like it’s come out to anchor and I assume it’ll try and dock at Grimsby again tomorrow or attempt docking at Immingham.

Ahh okay, I was 48 and should have left the factory last week.

Let’s hope so! what build week were you out of curiosity? I’ve asked my dealer for an update but curious to try and work out if there could be a backlog at the Emden port or if I’ve just made it

So I’m new to all this, but after looking at some posts of using the marine traffic website, I’ve found the first vehicles carrier that left Emden in the last few days that’s going to Grimsby. IMO is 9316294 and ETA is 10th Dec apparently. Hoping some of our cars on there if they left the factory this last week!

Manual Dynamic Chassis Control And Urano Grey R-Line (found it impossible to find any pictures of the r-line in a urano grey) I asked my dealer if heated seats were standard, to which I was told they were but on VWs website they are a ‘Feature on Demand’. Does this mean I’m going to have to pay extra to use this?

Hi guys! I’m aware this is a chat for 8.5 R’s but sadly the R was a little out of my budget as this was only my second car so I ordered the 8.5 R-line. Won’t bore you with little engine specs I’ve got 🤣 I ordered on the 12th Sept and was given a order form with a ETA of 8th Jan and have been recently told that the latest build update was Build 48 so should hopefully be leaving the factory this week. Is it safe to say shipping will be around 4 weeks to the dealership?
