PS4S get the thumbs up from me. The car came with Hankook S1 Evo3's which were OK, but nowhere near as good as the PS4S. For a couple of weeks I had to run a pair of Hankook's on the front and Bridgestone Potenza something-or-others on the rear thanks to getting a puncture in the arse end of nowhere. It'd be unfair to comment on the Bridgestones as I didn't have them all around.

I've got a set on order too.

As far as I know - yes. I haven't been able to be connected to both. When I need to connect to the dashcam I go into the Infotainment settings, network and disable the Wi-Fi hotspot. It'll say that if you do so it'll disconnect CarPlay. Once you're finished with the dash cam just enable the Wi-Fi hotspot again and CarPlay will automatically reconnet.

Best Places to Buy Quality VW Scirocco Parts?
Burble replied to mowirep's topic in VW Golf R MK8 Chat
https://www.lllparts.co.uk/ is well worth a look. -
Ok, so maybe VW need better quality control. I think there's justified finger pointing at all parties here. Except the end customer of course. I work for a company that sells into the Automotive industry (not directly to manufacturers) and I know that some companies are more strict about testing, validation and traceability than others.

I don't think it's that simple. It's up to the dealer network to hire staff and train them. If they're not and customers are suffering then I'd be more inclined to apportion blame at the dealers rather than VW. Of course, if VW were making the parts properly in the first place then this wouldn't be so much of an issue.
-
Or to look at it another way, to be fair to VW it's a shame that the dealers aren't appropriately resourcing & training the technicians.

I absolutely LOATHE the front assist nonsense, it's terrible. It'll emit a lout sound to tell me I'm going to crash when I'm not, all that does is make me panic for a second when I think it's seen something I haven't. It hasn't, it's being way OTT. I haven't had it stamp on the brakes much (usually the rear assist does that when I'm parking) but on the odd occasion it has I've got out of the car to check I haven't hit anything (even though I knew I hadn't) and whilst I was close to hitting something I knew I was close and was fully aware. The joys of having to move about in a very tight space because other people can't park properly.

8.5R order thread - post your order up here!

Sort of. You won't be able to load the car after starting it through the app as the car needs to be locked for the remote start to work. I haven't tested it but I assume the engine would stop if you tried to unlock it. -

Other than messing about with it in an empty office car park at 7am I've actually used it once. Some moron parked so close to me that I couldn't open the drivers door. On the passenger side was a bollard blocking the passenger door. so the options were to crawl in through the boot or use Park Assist. I'll still use it when I have do, but I'll always prefer to park the car myself. -
What was the weather like at the time? I often get that when it's foggy or raining very hard but it usually disappears within a minute. There's been numerous people on here that have mentioned it, I think it's just "one of those things" as opposed to a problem. It's so fleeting that I'm not overly sure what's not working at the time. I think the front crash assistance and travel assist won't work but the front crash protection is FAR too over zealous for my liking and when the weather is terrible I don't use travel assist anyway so I'm not bothered. Not seen that one before but it feels like something that needs investigating. I'm use to use the automatic parking in anger. The most I've done is move it backwards and forwards early in the morning when the office car park was empty. I'm not sure I'll ever actually let it park itself.

Was it an audible notification? I'm sure I've seen a message flash up on the screen reminding me to grab my phone but I've never heard an audible notification.
-
I’m referring to the very bottom row of the screen where the heated seat, recirc and so on are. You can choose what’s shown there and move the, around a bit. Not huge customisation, I think there’s 4 spots you can alter.
-
I discovered a few days ago that you can also add climate control related favourites to the bottom of the screen.
-
Yep. Every BE I've seen has said 'Black' on them. Without wanting to worry you, are there any other bits that aren't looking as BE as they should? What colour are the mirror caps? What colour are the VW badges?

Bonkers! It made precisely zero difference to my premium which is what I was expecting.

Perfect timing! I was wondering what causing that but hadn’t got around the looking through the menus. Thanks for posting!

I remember that only too well - my Focus ST had an exposed camera. I used to keep glasses cleaning wipes in the car for cleaning my glasses but the vast majority of the time they were used to clean the rear view camera.
-
Yeah, I think that's it. There's no sign of that edge in the flesh, nor can I feel anything.
-
Err, yeah. I see what you mean. That is my car (which I got brand new, I'm the first owner) but I've definitely not had PPF installed on it.

It's not a great wireless charger, I find it'll usually just about maintain the charge in my phone. Mine is rarely used, I keep a USB-C cable handy.
-
Excellent. I suggest you keep it that way 😃

I knew I'd notice a difference to Individual, but didn't expect quite that much of a difference!
