  1. Evening guys, hope you’re all well! I got around to machine polishing and waxing my beloved R the other weekend with some great hydrophobic results ready for this winter!
  2. New car detail - Recommendations around Milton Keynes Hi Guys When I get my new R, I don't want the dealer touching it or cleaning it for obvious reasons. I do however, want a new car detail with some paint protection etc. Does any one have any recommendations around the Milton Keynes area? I found these guys http://www.detailr.com/new-car-protection who have quoted a pretty good price for what they do ... I'm just not sure if what they use is good quality, decent products etc. Any advice or help would be most appreciated Cheers Tom
  3. Right then. 2 Weeks after picking it up I'm ready to give the new Golf a thourough detail. No editing or arty pics here I'm afraid, just an old point and shoot camera! Here it is: First job, wheels. Generally mucky, Golf R front brakes are VERY dusty! Wheels were jetwashed, soaked in 1:10 solution of AF Imperial, and agitated with a range of brushes. Despite the wheels being off the car, the EZ brush was necessary to reach the groove that sits behind the spokes. Rinsed off Doused in CarPro Iron-X
  4. Hello all! Newbie here who broke his detailing virginity today Hats off to all you detailers, its hard work! Feels like my hand is moving in circular motions trying to type/wax the keyboard. Since I've had the R, I've not had the time/chance to treat it with the care it deserves so I thought I'd give it a go today. My younger brother is a bit of a detailer so I 'borrowed' his belongings and brief instructions. Here's the routine I used; Wash Snowfoam - used Autobrite citrus wash Wash Hand shampoo - 2 bucket method with grit guards, used Chemical Guys shampoo Wash Clay bar Hand shampoo - 2 bucket method with grit guards, used Chemical Guys shampoo Dried car using large drying cloth Sealant - Chemical Guys Jet Seal Wax Forgot to take pics while going along but did take a couple after shots. Any advice/constructive critique welcome, thanks for looking!
