  1. Hello all, Just picked up my new 2017 mk7 R! It's perfect in every way EXCEPT the lane assist and ACC don't work. The errors are "Lane assist not currently available" and "ACC not available". Took it back for repair; the dealer replaced the windshield and all of the sensors attached to it. Drove out today (after a week of waiting...) with everything fixed! I made it about 2 miles and the dash lights came back on -- same exact errors. Anyone have experience with this? What faulty part(s) could cause this? Dalton
  2. Hi, anyone else had issues with SatNav not recording the correct location on a 2017 mk7? Infuriating when the nav system can get me travelling at ninety degrees to my actual direction, and be anything up to 8 miles out. When I was trying to factory reset the damned thing, I found a "view satellites" option which showed "satellites 0/0", so I am assuming that means it can see zero and has lock on zero. Thing is, sometimes it seems to work, and no matter how I try, I cannot for the life of me find the menu option to "view satellites" again (and yes, checked the manual, again and again). other problems seem to be very slow to navigate, often telling me to turn just after a junction as it struggles to keep up with location. Another clue is the dash car data showing "no location data to display". Thing is, every time I go to the dealers it starts working again, and this is doing my head in. Previous car was an Audi A6 and that satnav drove me to the point of trading the car for this R. Am I just in the Bermuda Triangle of West Yorkshire?
  3. On the way home last night, went for an overtake, nothing too speedy a tickle above 60mph perhaps- and all of a sudden my car said *GRRUMMBBLLEERRRRJHUO*, it seemed as though the engine was trying very hard, but I was only getting 20% power, and to top it all off, blue smoke billowing out of the exhausts. Great. On the flipside, VW assist are, in my opinion, really good! I've had a couple of issues- this being the more severe, they've been excellent- VW technicians at my door within a couple of hours of the call- a decent replacement car delivered to my place of work, and a low-loader to take my car to VW all within hours. Topped off with genuinely friendly, helpful people on the phones. The whole thing eases the worry of 'what the hell has happened to my car'. And the decent hire vehicle- a Golf GTD, which is OK. It surprises me that a GTD is described as a performance Golf though, it feels rather numb, even compared to the 140bhp 1.8 civic type S that I had prior to the Golf R. But- its not the typical crappy hire vehicle, so I'm not too displeased! Dan
