  1. I recently discovered the VWR OEM+ remaps and have to admit they have marketed it extremely well, I haven’t seen many people’s review on the maps as of yet so would be interesting to hear that. Interestingly enough they are stating 370ps for stage 1 and I know there are a small amount of horror stories of turbos blowing so I wonder what their stance is if this happens under there map considering what they are saying below. “RELIABILITY Through our manufacturer relationship, we are uniquely positioned to tap into a vast knowledge base and resources network. OEM+ software will never overstress the inherent hardware systems to the point of pushing turbochargers, cooling and other heat sensitive engine components beyond their intended limits” Also states you they will flash the car back to “true stock” as it was before, not sure if this is availible at any time for servicing but would be a definite plus if so!!
  2. Hi guys. I got an offer from my local Celtic Tuning for a stage 1 remap for 500 euros. Doesn't seem too bad, considering the 55hp increase. Anyone have any actual experiences with a Celtic Tuning remap installed? Is 355 hp too much for a 2.0L engine? Is it reliable? What do y'all think? Should I go for it, considering that the warranty has expired?
  3. Evening Rolfers! This is my first post so be gentle.. Much as this incredible car doesn't need more power, I can't stop looking at the increased gained from the Revo stage 1 remap.. (I'm sure I'm not the only one) Two of my previous cars have been remapped and I've never had any problems, but they've only led to minimal bhp increase against slightly higher torque increase. My concern with the Revo map is due to the gains, what are the knock on effects likely to be in 12 months time, because I could really do without blowing the car up! I'm intrigued to know your thoughts on the risks and gains from this.. Thank you! Dan
  4. Hello all, I have just purchased a 64 plate Golf R on Saturday. Really pleased with the car and the quality of the interior. I previously had a B7 RS4 that was looked after by Audi Tuning specialist MRC. As many of you may know they are highly regarded for tuning Audi's and after remapping my RS4 it made it a great drivers car. I spoke to them when looking at getting a Golf R and was excited when Doug at MRC claimed with just a remap he should easily be able to get a reliable 380bhp from the car. I have seen a few good and bad comments about whether the engine and gearbox can take this extra performance. I just wanted to know fellow owners experiences who have had either the MRC map or Revo etc and your opinions? I spoke to one of the Revo dealers who had their car at Snetterton for a track day recently and they seemed to think they have absolutely thrashed their car for miles with 380bhp and it has been fine. I am hoping to keep the car for 2-3 years and maybe put 30k on it before selling. However, I don't want to start running in to large bills as that is part of the reason I sold the RS4. Also, if the car has DCC, does each mode get mapped separately? Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers
