  1. Hi, I'm new to the forum having recently bought a 2018 Mk 7.5 R estate. I'm loving the car but for one thing. Every time my iPhone 6s rings when plugged into Apple CarPlay the missus and I s**t ourselves due to the volume being apparently set to 11. I have tried everything I can find suggested online about turning down the volume in settings while the phone is ringing and connected etc, but nothing seems to work. Having done a search on here for similar comments, I couldn't find anything, which I thought strange. Am I the only one to have experienced this problem, surely not? I would love to hear from anyone who has found a way of turning down the ringer volume whilst maintaining a reasonable level to allow conversation to take place. All the best. Paul
  2. Hi everyone, I picked up my new R last week and absolutely love it! Just one (slightly boring) question...does anyone know if a dual USB adaptor will allow me to connect my iphone to apple carplay/charge the phone and to play music (from USB) at the same time? If not, is it better to play music from an SD card? Thanks, Rob
  3. I have a '64 plate with the standard nav infotainment and over the last few months I've been experiencing issues with the MDI cable and my iphone 5 (iOS 8.3). It used to work fine but now it randomly stops charging and sometimes it will switch to the iphone's music rather than the selected input (usually SD card in my case). I think it switches after it's lost connection then regains it again. All very annoying! Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? It feels like its a MDI cable issue. Are people using MDI to USB then plugging in lightning cables instead? Thanks in advance!
  4. I should be collecting my car from Newcastle next month and I'll be using my iPhone's satnav to navigate home, using a mount to fix it on to the dash. I believe the supplied MDI lightening cable is not long enough to charge a phone on the dashboard so I will need to buy and take some sort of extension. What are the options available and what do people find works best?
