  1. After 20000 miles in 6 months , which included a lot of motorway some stop start and a fair few blasts my long term was 30.4mpg. On my 40 mile commute to work - m57-m62-( clear for 15miles then usually traffic for 5-10 ) then A roads @50/40mph i would get 33/34mph with out trying. I was always in race mode. On a long run i would get 37/38mpg and the lowest was prob 26/26mpg. I was impressed for 300bhp car!
  2. im going to get cctv installed anyway , and was thinkinh of a motion alarm aswell, but then i know that id be up all night for it going off. The security light is bad enough and that has a sensitivity setting on it too. Car wise im going 335d. De badged and grey to go under the radar as much as i can. Thje fella across the road has a 2015 5 series and his neighbour has a really nice new Audi A5. Hopefully theyll pinch his! .I might try and get hold of a stun gun too
  3. I see what your saying about them targeting 30k cars in general, but hat hatches tend to be a car they focus on. I know a few guys all with nice motors and the only one that i know has been pinched was my mates golf R. Even from older days ie - escort RS, focus RS , R32 rtc they seem to attract them. I think they dont flag up on the top 10 because there are less of them than say range rovers or 3 series if you know what i mean. As for security, they arent arsed at all as it was at the front of the house, with the spotty on them and they were making a load of noise and had ballys on.
  4. Ha not a chance ! My thinking is a debaged 335 looks just like a 320. I may even badge it up as a 320
  5. Company car went back because of a couple of burglary attempts on my house. Decided it wasn't worth keeping until they finally got it. I wish that was on the list, ha.
  6. I'm sorry to say it has gone! I will miss her dearly but now I have to move on. The only problem now is everything else I can pick is going to seem boring. I have to get a saloon and something I can make blend in a little but still have fun in. If it's to showy or another fast hatch the thieving hits will surely be back. I'm thinking either a 330d or 335d debadged . Any one been out in the f30 shape or owned one? The golf has set the bar high for me hence the need for help so I'm not to disappointed

  8. Yep, there breaking into the house for the keys. I came to this conclusion as all my neighbours have had no issues at all in the past 6 years and the fact they tried to break into my house whilst next door was vacant as they were away tells me they were after something specific. Oh and the police and CID said it willbe the car they are after.
  9. I guess when i moved to liverpool i thought that the thieving scousers thing was just a joke! Turns out that they are living up to their reputation.
  10. Im sorry to say that the golf has to go back. I love it and wouldnt normally look at giving it back early ( company car) but i have had my 2nd attempted break in to my house this week! The car is a target for the local criminals , and this time they tried to get in the front window by screwdrivering the beading whilst the spotlight was on them. The cheeky bastards werent even quiet about it! If it was just me to think about id keep it but i have a 3 week old baby and a now terrified wife so it was the house or the car.
  11. My first service is next week @ 17k
  12. Had a frustrating day! Two 530d bmws's and an old type r were teasing me today on the motorway. Non of which looked particularly quick but my wife , 3 yr old and 3 week old baby we're all in the car. It took a lot of will power not to play their game. Any other day and they would have been toast !!
  13. When you say old , what version do you mean ? Old old, bug eye or the one after that ? 280 isn't far off stock. Probably just the exhaust and induction. I've had a play with a number of scoobys over the years in different cars and got my ass handed to me once by an old old ( 1998) uk spec which looked standard. My 200sx at the time was rapid too! Turned out he had an sti turbo conversion plus a few mods and was around the 330 bhp mark. My mate had a sti version 5 type ra which I was going to buy off him back in 2003 for 9k as it was running on 3 cylinders. It sounded amazing and when healthy was loads of fun. Never bought it in the end as insurance was a joke. Good to know the golf will pull on one
  14. Adaman, is this the weekend the big debate on `mapped R vs the C63` gets answered?
