  1. Another dreamer. Don't always assume people are always driving flat out. The R takes no skill to drive flat out, rear wheel drive cars do and hence people don't always drive around trying to prove a point. Power to weight is 211bhp per tonne on the R, 268bhp on the M3, which do you think is the faster car? The C63 faster still...
  2. Got my E90 M3 now and it really highlights just how fast a Golf R is in the real world. Makes the M3 feel quite flat in the lower rev range, having said that, get the m3 up the revs and it makes the Golf feel like its going backwards.
  3. Hello Simon, are you selling your car ? If so i could be interested . Regards Phil

Hi Phil, apologies I've just looked at the logistics and it just wont work out. I'm due to drive up to Newcastle on Thursday to pick up the new car and hence trade the Golf. So even if you did make me a decent offer, to get money sorted and then for me to find a way up to Newcastle is just going to be impossible and I'm sure you don't want to rush into a car purchase.

      Appreciate your enquiry though.

      Regards, Simon

Hi Simon, I'm working in Leeds this week and have cash in the bank . If we did a deal i could drop you off in Newcastle if that helps ?

  4. Which one? Guessing not the latest version as it would not be close!!
  5. Well summed up. Question is do the pros outweigh the cons?
  6. Yeah love the b7 RS4 but as a daily I couldnt go back to a manual. Loved my e46, what a car but felt it's age. Just drove my mates e92 DCT and it's pretty awesome.
  7. Sorry, but you are living in the clouds if you think it will only lose £8k in 4 years. After all the hype of Ford bringing out this new RS, the next one is years away.
  8. You really think a 4 year old Focus RS is only going to lose £8k!!! You can't actually be serious? The Mk1 and Mk2 were limited production cars the Mk3 isn't.
  9. That doesn't make sense. If the residuals are poor and hence you can buy a used R thats taken a massive hit then surely the sensible option is to buy one of those. The depreciation curve will flatten right off. Buying a new RS will cost you much more money as they will still depreciate more than a used R.
  10. Doesn't stop you posting the same old drivel
  11. Yeah I do like them but the practicality kills that idea. I do love having 4 doors with kids
  12. Yeah you know what I'm talking about then. Even the cold start in the morning makes you realise it's sonething special. My mate has an e92 so will take that for a good drive and see what I think. I take your point about not really being able to exploit the power and I guess that's the issue with the golf, because I can and do use all power all of the time, when I'm really in the mood it doesn't excite me.
  13. Oh yeah sorry I knew you weren't. As you say nearly every car depreciates, that's life. The Golf has just been very popular which hasn't helped residuals. A huge success to VW though compared to the Mk6 R!
  14. Was referring to the 8v RS3 rather than the 8p.
