  1. I went into my dealer on saturday to drop off my number plates for the new car. Was told that my car was one of the last fitted with the wireless charging in it, but they have to remove the amplifier before i can collect it. the charging will still work but it wont have the signal booster... Dealer told me all cars now are not having any of the wireless charging unit on and they have taken it off the configurator online as well...
  2. Picking mine up from dealer on Wednesday! Few things i've seen on this thread that i might be able to shed some light on now for others... VW still taking orders on wireless charging unit for the car, mine has been delivered with this option on... The spoiler you can spec online for the car is not the one you will get, the only option VW offer is the oettinger one, which is the same price, however the price quoted doesn't include painting and fitting so be aware. Managed to get them to do mine for nothing as i wasn't told before ordering. Don't order any of the "delivery packs" well over priced for what they are Mine has taken exactly 12-13 weeks from order date. Hope that helps someone!
  3. No point in checking the app guys. Just speak to VW Live Chat online. Your build week will be given a week later than it actually is as well, this is done as standard i believe. The cars seem to get built within 4 weeks, but they take a long time to travel to the port, get inside the port and then allocated to a ship.
  4. Hi Bud Mine arrived to Grimsby last night. From reading various posts on here over the last few weeks i would say you want to check with your dealer and not the live chat in regards to this one. I think the VW online system is probably not updated until the dealer confirms the arrival of your car. The dealer is less likely to confirm this until they have your car ready as they know when the customer sees that it is there they will be under pressure to get it out the door asap... As mentioned, I would check with the dealer, they will know where your car is and when it's due to them. Hoping i dont have as substantial wait as you for the car! Good luck
  5. @Pet0r yeah bit of a shame, but nevermind, excited to get it now...
  6. @Pet0r yours was probably on same ship as mine, let me know when yours gets to the dealer!
  7. For anyone who has or about to order a guide on timelines; Ordered 27th January Built 14th March Arrived in UK 11th April Expecting to pick up next week around 20th April So all in all, 11-12 weeks is about right for delivery times. Frustrating as the car was built a month before it got to the UK, but I guess you just have to be patient (easier said...) I didn't go for the akra exhaust as it would of added a longer lead time, but spec'd up with majority of other extras. Will post pics when i pick it up!
  8. @naitch @rousetafarian Just tracking mine going over on the ship to Grimsby, finally!! How long did you guys wait for a transporter to take it to the dealer when it arrived in the UK?
  9. Mine ordered 31st Jan and still in Emden docks! Praying to get it this month
  10. @Portia12 it will be there 2-3 weeks minimum judging by mine and everyone else bud
  11. @naitch @rousetafarian Both lovely looking cars, happy you are both sorted. checked in on live chat this morning, mine still in the Emden.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  12. @naitch Not ideal if there is scratches, but i reckon after they have been sorted at the detailer it will look spot on. Maybe use it as a bit of leverage for a freebie bag for the boot or something, worth a go!
  13. @naitch @rousetafarian Glad you guys are almost there now. Make sure you upload some pics when you pick up so i know who to beep if i cross you guys on the m62!
  14. @hasp123 @naitch communication has been pretty bad for me too really. I haven't had a call from my dealer since I placed the order. I think every consumer wants to feel a bit of love after dropping over 35k on anything. For me, I really had to work my ass off to be able to get the car so it's a bit frustrating that you seem you fall into the hands of the online VW chat which basically send you a scripted response most of the time. I have a feeling they are robots... I am just hoping to have the car by the end of the month now.
  15. @naitch pleased for you mate, sounds like you have had a right mare with your order. Mine still stuck in Emden, was built a month ago and not allocated a ship yet put some pics up when you get some
  16. I'm 29 and live in city centre Manchester. Just waiting on delivery of my new 7.5 R. Cheapest insurance i can find is £2000!!!! I have 9 years no claims....
  17. @hasp123 nice one for the heads up mate. Mine still not allocated a ship just checked on the live chat (bet they are sick of me) Home stretch for you now!
  18. @rousetafarian i would be changing my plans for the weekend if i were you mate!
  19. Cars being delivered to the south of the UK (sheerness docks) seem to be moving a lot quicker than anything coming into the north (grimsby docks)...
  20. @indyjones ordered mine on 31st Jan, won't get delivery until late April....
  21. Thanks for the advice, seemed a bit steep... can anyone recommend any detailers around manchester area?
  22. Hi All, My car is due for delivery in the next 2-3 weeks (i hope). Did anyone go for the "Delivery Pack" that VW are offering? It's £550 and basically you get some Auto Glym and they apply it onto the car for you before collection. As someone who has next to no knowledge on this can anyone advise me if I am better off just taking the car to a detailers to get it looking nice? I dont really know whether the pack is worth it or not. Help.... Thanks, Ben
  23. @naitch @rousetafarian Mine still at Emden I think as I havent had any notification like you guys, did you get an email or a text? what spec did you both go for?
  24. @naitch @rousetafarian I haven't put any pressure on my dealer yet. When i ordered he told me i should expect delivery in Easter weekend. Of course, i know that it's not going to happen, but I feel i should give it a couple of weeks before kicking up a fuss. It's a bit of a shame that the dealer hasn't been in touch to let me know that i wasn't going to get delivery on time. As a sales guy myself in IT i can honestly say if i didn't tell my clients that their deliveries were going to be late, not that many of them would carry on buying from me. I always find the more contact the better and people are far more forgiving when you are honest and informative about any possible delays. The annoying bit for me is that my current car will now be due a service before i collect the new one, a £500 cost i hadn't accounted for. I will probably remove the "delivery pack" from my VW order as this just seems a bit of rubbish deal anyway. I think the dealer is told from VW to let the online service and app keep the customer up to date, but after spending the best part of 40k i would like to be informed with a call just every now and again to let me know they are doing what they can. It feels a little bit like "your car will come when it comes and you just have to wait" even if that is the case a phone call here and there would make me feel better about where i spent my money... rant over
  25. @naitch wow, starting to feel like i should of bought the S3 now...
