  1. Looking at that video it reminded me of a Astra VXR i had with a problem like this, I had the valve stems done and new turbo and still smoke plumed once hot and idle for over 2 mins. Turned out to be piston rings........rebuild to fix sadly. When your next out driving and the car is hot and under load let off the throttle and look in your rear mirror to see if it smokes, if it does see if it stops by pressing the throttle. I was told this is a good way to check for bad turbo seals. Fingers crossed you get this sorted pal.
  2. So after abit of a drive with the AC off then on it seems what you all have been saying about the ac is ringing true. I put a sheet of paper under the leaking area and its clear water like liquid, no smell bit stale taste. Coolant level perfect also before and after drive. Only had the car 6 months and never noicted this, ill get the once over from vw still i guess. Thanks for all your response's
  3. Thanks guys, Im gonna drive to the shops so will check again. Ill take some paper with me so i can see if theres any colour.
  4. Hey all, hope everyones keeping safe. Long story short..... Went for a drive in 7R yesterday. What a blast! Pulled over and left the car running to admire the scenery and nocticed a little puddle forming under the car. Knocked the car back so see what sort of liquid it was, not oil, no smell, hard to tell if any colour. It was dripping from undernearth near centre console area. I got it booked in with VW they seems to think its condensation from the AC. It was scorcher yesterday (26.5) and did have the ac on full. Any thoughts? Anyone had similar?
  5. Is this not just Sport mode on the gearbox? When i change mine to race the gearbox changes to Sport mode automatically, gear changes are then really high and long ,should'nt feel less powerfull though. Have you also tried race mode and flappy paddle to change gears? Does it do the same as in Auto?

Thanks all for the welcome and advise given. I have owned Front and rear wheels drive cars and have wanted to try AWD for a while now. One of the best cars i owned was a Golf GTI Mk5 and have missed the brand since i sold it. Made my choice rather easy i knew i wanted a golf and AWD, the R ticks 99.9% boxes for me, Subtle,Mature, Puts a massive grin on my face.

Hey All Just picked up my 2017 Lapiz Blue 3dr Golf R. What a car =D I have been looking for a Golf R for about 6 months but are hard to find with the extras i wanted. Finally one came up, a little pricey but an absolute dream and worth every penny. Has 19" prets, DCC,Pan Roof,Full Leather,Dynoaudio,Discover Pro(Tech pack), Reverse Cam, Phyical Key!(NO keyless) After coming out of a Volvo C30 T5 the Golf feels Amazing, still cant believe i own it. I have bought a dislock and AutoWatch Ghost to be installed very soon. Is there much more i should be doing? I know R's are in high demand for thieves. Im after a rez delete, is there a massive difference between brands? they all look identical but prices vary from £80 - £180 I am based in Leeds, West Yorks so hope to see fellow members about. Pic Attched =D
