thanks again for you the reply and your help, I’ve been away on holidays so put abit of a delay on the car. Also checked earth connection and recharged and reconditioned the battery using a ctek charger. May sound silly but the issue with the engine cutting (stabilisation error) out often happens if I hit a bump in the road on the left hand side (passenger) of the car

Also just noticed when reading codes, when the ignition is on but engine not running the battery voltage is showing 11.9volts. Surely this is too low? it does rise to around 12.6 after the car has been turned on and off voltage when engine is running is 14.2v

I’m from the UK The car is a 2017 VW GOLF GTD 3dr I’m using OBDeleven to scan codes You’re correct about sc8 powering all these devices as the illumination on both the light selector switch and the electronic handbrake are not lit once the fuse blows i believe my car has all of these things that you listed: Rotary light switch -EX1- Electromechanical parking brake button -E538- Rain and light sensor -G397- (this is glued to the windshield) Diagnostic connection -U31- (this is the OBD port into which you plug your diagnostic device) Anti-theft alarm sensor -G578 and the only thing i added recently was wireless car play adaptor but that still works even after the fuse has blown and I no longer use it and issues are still present ive attached a copy of the SCAN report of my car I would ideally like to solve the issue myself if i can save some money or if need be id be prepared to take to a specialist

Hi, not a golf R but maybe common issues across the mk7/7.5 platform. currently having issues on my GTD with Fuse F8 in glove compartment blowing (dipped beam, cornering lights and electronic handbrake in the manual) Changed the fuse multiple times and all lights work before fuse blows so defo not a bulb (so maybe a module or lose connection) doesn’t always blow straight away. anyways, the bigger issue is now a number of random fault codes randomly appearing and then clearing. Car sometimes fails to start and comes up with Error: stabilisation control (Esc) along with start/stop unavailable. this is very intermittent but has been happening more often and now car cuts out when driving. not sure if it could be faulty battery or the possible short circuit in lights dragging voltage down. Ill try attach an image of faults Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
