Hi all, Finally picked up my first R last week (stock black, estate, ‘19). Love it. I’m currently using it around town - with a dog usually in the boot - so it’s fairly restrained journeys. However next week we go up to Derby, drop the dog off with family, and head up to Leeds. I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of some nice roads heading up/down that way where I can enjoy the car. Hi all, just bought my first R (stock estate, MY19, black) but don’t take delivery until beginning of December. I have however read a lot on here about the frequency of them being stolen and so was thinking of getting a steering wheel lock. Any comments or advice would be welcome TYIA.

I pulled the pin on a stock 19 plate R estate in black on Saturday. Very excited however due to personal circumstances I won’t take delivery until 4 Dec which is going to be a veeeerrrry long wait for me. Quick questions from a newbie please. I am already thinking of non-performance mods (maybe performance mods in a year or so) and would welcome recommendations/thoughts on wind deflectors and stick-on paddles. Also, if I’d bought a non-black version, I was planning to black wrap the grill and roof bars but I am worried doing that on a black car then it would be “too” black and featureless. Finally, any thoughts on buying OBDeleven stuff, or similar, especially for ambient lighting etc. Any comments gratefully received.

Hi all, Excuse the nativity here…. I’ve just joined the VWROC as I’m looking to buy a 7.5 estate in the next few weeks and wanted to gather as much info as possible in advance. I had a good chat with a number of Golf R owners at the Caffeine and Machine R meet up last week and even at this point I got very interested in quickly getting a Stage 1 upgrade. My question is: are many Rs sold with, say, a Revo Stage 1, or are they “removed” or “switched off” by selling owners if they’re not taking them onto a their new vehicle? TYIA
