Yeah, it took a while. it asked if I wanted to update, and as I had a few miles to drive home I pressed it. Then this kicked off - drove off the forecourt and just waited.. Im home now 😄

Just filled up with petrol, started car and this…. Need to get home 😆

Thanks, will have a look through.. A bit disappointed VW still can’t send a new model out with several issues though! (But not just VW, as I know only too well…) I notice the hvac controls on the 8.5 - are they always on the screen no matter what else you have showing?

Been a while since I was on this forum, but just wondering how everyone’s 8.5 are going (particularly the Black Edition) Our R20 will be 3 next month and whilst it has been very reliable so far (that’s done it now…) with only the sos module needing sorting, we don’t tend to keep newly bought cars much longer than that. Sort of looking at the Black but is it much of a change from the R20? Any particular issues showing so far (like the early bugs in the 8 ) ? Have seen quite a few well specced lightly used ones for sale, so may well end up with one of those. cheers.

Did I imagine this - I thought when selecting ‘special’ mode the background lighting automatically went to yellow which you couldn’t change. If that was the case, mine doesn’t do it now.

Bridgestones on at the moment (from factory), and whilst they’ve been ok I think I’ll be changing to something else. Have Michelin 4S on my Evora and quite like them. Seems Continental also have good reviews.

Haven’t been here for a while but the R20 is now on nearly 24k miles and soon be 2 years old. Glad to report since the SOS module was replaced quite a while ago it’s been 100%, with no gremlins showing up. Just need some new tyres now…

I don’t remember that being the case for our 7.5 unless it’s changed? This one hasn’t had a service yet as far as I can remember and it’s on 14k miles. Assuming it’s on condition based mileage. App is saying oil service due in 2100 miles, and another service due in 5800 miles. To say I’m confused is an understatement 😄 edit - looks like the car is running the flexible servicing up to 18k miles. It does a lot of long motorway journeys generally. Doesnt help though, if it breaks down…

VW Assist - just received a letter saying ours has now ended as the car is a year old. Id assumed, like almost every other manufacturer that you got 3 years to run alongside the warranty. Reading up on it, it seems they give you another year when each service is carried out? Issue is, the car doesn’t need a service for another 335 days…

Yes, was using the defog setting on smart climate - that’ll be why it mists up again then! Never knew… One thing I really do miss on this car are hvac knobs.

Not sure if there’s a separate section on here for HVAC., but… Does anyone have any decent ‘leave and forget’ settings? Ive been using the R quite a bit over the last few days and noticed the drivers side particularly misting up. So I go into climate and press. ‘defog windows’ which clears it, but then it appears to turn itself off and I have to keep going back to turn it on periodically. Also, defogging windows seems to mean I can’t also warm my feet, or have gentle warm rainbow unicorn breath suggestively blowing in my face at the same time. Of course, I could RTFM, but it’s far easier to glean knowledge from you lot… 😉 Please help me - I’m getting fed up leaving fingerprints on the screen…

Just had the 1941 update today.

Yes, have tried that… It remembers the seat positions but it has to be done by pressing the ‘change user’ button. All settings are still from the previous user / key every time you unlock. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s just annoying that it was all working until it went to the dealer.

I did search but couldn’t find…. Anyhoo, after the SOS module was replaced yesterday and all my settings on both keys were wiped, I now can’t seem to assign auto seat positions to each key when I unlock, as I did before. Cant actually remember how to do it and can’t even find it in the handbook. Is there a quick guide on here at all? cheers

Had a new SOS module fitted today, however all our settings have been wiped. Im now trying to reset primary user in the new VW App but I keep getting this - Privacy is set to zero so not sure what’s happening.. Just going round in circles. Have deleted and reinstalled the app but nothing.. Have logged out and back in again but nothing.. Doing my nut in now! Any ideas? Thanks edit - sorted it! but, my key now asks for an S pin that I inputted too many times now it’s locked me out 🤦🏼

Green - that’s it! Well mine isn’t anymore, just blue. Tried to change it in the background section but it changes all modes to the same colour..

I’m pretty sure that when you select ‘special’ mode (N’ring) the background colour was yellow by default and I couldn’t change it. Mine isn’t now. I may have dreamt this, but could someone with an R20 do me a favour and confirm either way please.. Many thanks in advance 👍
