Has it been confirmed that the issue is EU only? I havent had a chance to really drive around in M mode only here in NAR, but I havent seen anyone on vortex mention it yet. Car's have now been on the road here for 2ish months now.

Ahh ok. Was trying to find something on the topic but looks like it never worked to begin with. Ok phew. But 250km in, no issues to report besides 1 random android auto disconnect. Might be useful for others: I use wireguard vpn on my android to connect to my homenetwork, android auto doesnt work on vpn. Theres an android app called "wgTunnel" that lets you add a splittunnel to bypass android auto

Canadian R here. Cant connect using the OG OBDEleven (on android). Worked fine on my 2015 TDI. I get the error that ignition needs to be on. I know coding was locked down. Was surprised to see that I cant even connect to monitor status. Car built in May 2025. Saw some ppl were able to at least connect. Not sure if thats changed now?

Exactly. Like we got the black edition with the cloth and/or akra as options. The black edition comes standard with a sunroof. In the US you have to select "euro spec" which deletes sunroof but gives you akra and cloth. You cant get a sunroof, akra and leather as a factory option in the US.

Looking at grabbing the Viofo A229 kit. Stressed about Apillar wiring.. how hard is it to get the wires behind the airbag?

For what its worth the NAR cars havent reported this issue so it seems like whatever the problem was may have been fixed from a certain BW. Fingers crossed for you guys to get a solution asap and some form of compensation 🤞🏽

My car was built today!! 🎉Got a VIN, now just waiting for them to ship it over here 😁 My timeline of events: 2024 May 5 - Put down deposit to secure first slot at dealer 2025 March 12 - Placed order with dealer and signed bill of sales 2025 March 26 - Dealer submitted order (BW 1925) 2025 May 8 - Car was built ... ETA - 2025 July

Hahaha, she put up with me bigtime that day, I kept going to the R showroom and the VW showroom to check out the cars in person but also to be fair, she found the factory tour to be super cool and interesting as well. I would 100% recommend it to people even if they weren't really into cars.

I've been super eager haha. Ive been eyeing the R's for the last 10years since I've had my license Tracking/updating the cars location feels just as exciting as placing and picking up the order for me as well, so its a fun time Haha yeah, i felt like a kid at disney land. I was pointing out every small thing to my fiance "those are the north american cars since they have those little reflectors, and thats the black edition there because of that badge" 😅

Yeah! Im super excited From putting a deposit down last May to reserve my spot to seeing the cars being built in the factory. Genuinely thrilled for the summer to come

Build week: 1925 Order created: March 26 (annoyed that it was this late, i submitted it a lot earlier) Factory submitted: April 8 Frozen to changes: April 9 VIN: nothing yet ETA: July 5-July 25 Spec: White Black Edition with Akra/Leather/Sunroof (Standard North American features included - HUD, Warmenau etc.)

As long as they dont increase their prices I dont see that changing luckily we get such a good deal on them compared to the global market; but if they raise their prices it starts to creep into a few other interesting cars. When I was at the autostadt I was talking to the R reps and they were mindblown when I said we get an almost fully loaded golf R for around 43k euro (leather, hud, dcc, akra, upgraded rims, performance pack and a few other goodies).

Interesting... Yeah, that $150cad service credit they gave Ill just use that for my 3rd yr maintenance then lol. Ill definitely be bringing that up. Thanks for letting me know about that, I genuinely didnt know that was a thing 😲

Luckily got my dealer to throw in $500cad worth of freebies (floating center caps, trunk mat and a service credit/first oil change free). But good to know about the USB and mats, I know my friend with an 8 was charged for the mats

Pickup to do: - Check for scratches/dings - Check seats for dents/issues - Ensure all freebies were actually thrown in (cables, mats etc). - See if warning triangle can be thrown in - R logo keys I might ask for the ELSA pdf for the vehicle if thats possible to get a copy of. What else could I be missing?

Is there a good list of things to check upon pickup to ensure you have? One thing I might ask for is for the ELSA printouts/pdf. But is there anything to keep an eye out for on pickup day? Besides the obvious (scratches, dings/cosmetic issues)

Went to Germany for a week last week. Obviously visited the Autostadt Saw the NAR R's being made, sat in an 8.5R for the first time, insane experience. What I purchased (was sold out from the wolfsburg shop, so managed to snag it at a popup in Berlin) PN: 5H6-087-010 Came back to Canada and realized theyre nowhere to be found here, only ebay.. Should've snagged more Overall amazing experience, I'm hoping the R's land at dealerships within the next month
