Hello all, Just picked up my new 2017 mk7 R! It's perfect in every way EXCEPT the lane assist and ACC don't work. The errors are "Lane assist not currently available" and "ACC not available". Took it back for repair; the dealer replaced the windshield and all of the sensors attached to it. Drove out today (after a week of waiting...) with everything fixed! I made it about 2 miles and the dash lights came back on -- same exact errors. Anyone have experience with this? What faulty part(s) could cause this? Dalton

How often do you use the Adaptive Cruise Control?....I've had my car 2 months now and haven't used it yet....Just curious what other R drivers are doing?.Cheers

I spoke to a technician in VW today who explained to me that any wheels alignments must now be done by VW, as they will also need to incorporate the alignment of the ACC. Aligning the wheels without doing the ACC will result in the vehicles tracking being off. How much is this service from my local VW? £450. Four hundred and fifty pounds. Unless i get to take the wheel alignment equipment home with me at the end of it, i find that a little extortionate. And apparently no-one else in the north of Ireland can offer this service but VW. So, i was wondering if anyone who had recently fitted springs/coil-overs to there cars if they had any issues after having there cars realigned. Any steering wheels sitting even a few degrees of center when going in a straight line. -
Hello Guys, I have a 2014 MK7 R and recently my ACC keeps flagging up an error message on the dash saying (ACC not available) . I have been to see VW and they didnt seem to know what was wrong. The message only appears after 10-15 minutes worth of driving but doesnt appear evey day. Has anyone had the same or simular issue? Thanks!

After decades of incident-free motoring a pheasant flew up from its hidden position right beside my car and of all places had to die in the centre of the front grill. Result: one new front radar "camera" and grill needed, with calibration. Total bill: £1000 exactly. These things happen, but it seems a lot. Apparently it's £360 just to calibrate the new camera, it needing specialist VW equipment and taking three hours. I suppose I'm must venting, but I wonder why it is so expensive. Twice on my long drive today cars which had been following me suddenly undertook me on the inside and slotted into the gap left by the ACC (set to shorter distance than default). On both occasions they gained nothing and sat in front of me for the next fifteen minutes, stuck behind the same vehicles that I'd been following with ACC, i.e. long chains following some distant fast lane obstruction. Are there people out there offended by those who leave a safe gap? Or can they only see one car ahead?
