Hi Everyone, looking at pulling the trigger to lease a Golf R over 24 months from my Audi A1 1.4 150 which will be quite a jump and looking for some advice, seen a deal for a end of March delivery for a 3 door and also 5 door Golf R which have already been built and on there way from Germany as we speak. After looking fairly extensively at this forum and others I have concluded that the 3 door is no longer built with production ending around May-July last year, so in light of this I sent off this email for my own peace of mind as I do not want to enter into any agreement without knowing it's exactly the specification I am after. There response has confused me some what so for all you Golf R experts Is there any truth to this at all? Frankly I do not mind waiting for a fresh factory order despite the timing of this being really good for me. **email to leasing company** Hi Ian, Just had a look and the spec of the 3 door may not include the reversing camera which would be a deal breaker for me. Is there any possibility to get the 5 door for the same price as the 3 door as £xxx is the maximum I am willing to spend. Also if I stick with yourselves and decided to order a factory built 5 door what would the lead time be? Sorry to mess you about just want to make sure I get the exact specification before committing. ** end of email ** This is their response. Hi Dale, I don't know exactly but these are part of a large batch of cars that were built at the end of last year and are currently on their way over from Germany. Regards Ian ** end of email **

Hi All, This is my first post so be nice, please. I'm looking for Objective advice on a build for my soon to be Golf R. Please pay special attention to that word as I don't want this to turning into a pissing contest. The build I want is effectively a time attack car for the road; I'm willing to sacrifice a bit in fuel economy and ride comfort, for a more faster and sharper car. Road legal and track ready. I want this thread to Objectively to answer the following The strengths and weaknesses of the R Which parts can be replaced/upgraded to fix these issues? Is what I want possible? Ideal build, with money as no objective and my criteria above As I said objectiveness is key, I don't want any crap. If you make a point, prove it. If multiple people comment, I'll get an idea of where the car actually is in the real world and I can base my build off that. Thanks in advance

I've been reading loads of posts on this forum since convincing myself to get a Golf R, definitely seems like a fun and knowledgeable Golf R community! I'm gonna go for the following options when I order: Automatic 3 Doors Oryx White or Lapis Blue (I thought I wanted blue until I used the Visualizer on the VW website and then seen how good Oryx white looks! I'm definitely swaying more towards the white now) Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) Dynaudio 19" Pretoria Alloys Privacy Glass (90% tinted) What do you guys think of these options? Also when I was on the visualizer site it has a couple of alloys options that are not available in the UK the nicest ones which are Pretoria in black and one with black and blue trim. I think the black Pretoria's are beautiful and make the car look so much better its a shame that the option isn't offered in the UK How much do you think it would cost to get the alloys painted in the same way? Do you think if pay extra that dealer could do this for you?
