lwissink
Hello all, I am looking to soon buy a MK7.5 Golf R in Canada to import to the United States, as it will save me thousands of dollars compared to what I'll pay from a dealer in the US. However, one small problem I have is that I can't figure out whether or not you can fully swap the units in the gauge cluster without swapping it entirely. I know it's easy to change the digital reading in the menus of the infotainment system, making it look like this: However, if you do this, as shown in the picture above, it only changes the digital reading in the middle and the outer speedo is still in km/h. I can legally import one to the US like this, but I'd much rather have it display the proper reading fully within the display. After looking on Autotrader, I've found some Canadian imported Golf Rs for sale in the US. About half of them have clusters that look like the above with the mileage and digital reading showing in mph, and the km/h reading for the speedo. The other half have clusters that look identical to other US spec models with the full reading in mph, and I'm curious to know if there's any way to replicate that without swapping the cluster. I've seen someone mention that it's possible with OBDEleven, but I haven't been able to confirm this. If anyone can provide any knowledge on the topic it would be greatly appreciated! BobbyT
I would have thought it's a coding change within VCDS. Have a hunt online, if so, you would just need to alter some parameters in VCDS to fully change the clocks.
fastandy
Maybe. You'd have to try coding it. Make sure you do a full scan first and have a saved record of all long coding.. *https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/need-help-digital-dash-in-kph.378379/**
