  1. Would spacers be required to clear these calipers with et41 19 inch scirocco r wheels?
  2. Will 8.5 et45 alloys 19 inch with 235 35 19 tyres be too wide on the front? has anyone got them fitted and any pics of them and the arch please
  3. had some real fun in the R today, lots of snow today here . i fitted some 18,s with michelin pilot sport alpin tyres in november. i cant praise this car enough, it will not get stuck anywhere. i live in a hilly area near holmfirth so its quite bad snow wise. today i went out for a play. turn the esp off completely and had some fun in empty car parks etc. R likes to get the back end out, whenever you floor it. its like a rear wheel drive, but the winter tyres give good traction so i was picking up speed quick which was a bit scary at times. love this car
  4. BMX

    MPG

drive mine too and from work all week, rural and a bit of town driving, with no dual cariageways or motorways, im in a fairly hilly area aswell if that makes any difference. i use tesco 99 and get long term 31.5 mpg oh and its always in race
  5. my steering wheel was off centre slightly, after taking it back to the dealer and being fobbed off a few times i took it to ATS in barnsley and had it 4 wheel aligned. the rear was out making it sometime look straight and sometimes not. now it is bang centre all the time. it felt a bit twitchy before also, but now its planted and calm. cost me £45 if i remember correctly and they did it in about 5 minutes.
  6. Peek chrome polish is awesome on chrome and polished alloy its available at b&q for about £3 for a toothpaste size tube
  7. After some winter wheels in 18 inch for £500 or less. Just wondering if anyone has seen pretoria reps in 18?
  8. mine is super slick. no problems here yours may need some cable adjustment ??
  9. after collecting my R with the steering wheel off centre a few months ago, i finaly got round to getting 4 wheel alignment. the rear offside was out from the factory. The car is so much nicer to drive now and the steering wheel is straight and i am back in love with my R big thanks to Paul at ATS in Barnsley, the guys were very proffesional and sorted it out in about 20 minutes.
  10. Hi i have had to baby wipe sun lotion from the passenger seat today and thought i need to buy some decent leather cleaner and conditioner. can anyone recomend some that keeps it looking matt not shiney? oh and not liquid leather as the wife nearly spews up when she smells that
  11. 2WD on winter tyres better than 4WD on summer tyres - especially on braking where 4WD doesn't help you, something a lot of 4x4 drivers realise just before they crash I have a set of these lined up, 18" BBS genuine VW part so no insurance issues and they clear the calipers, a bargain at £450 - Seat surplus stock which VW offered to me direct many moons ago; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18-NEW-BBS-ALLOYS-WHEELS-GENUINE-SEAT-LEON-SUPERCOPA-MONZA-MK5-MK6-GOLF-GTI-TDI-/181467466344?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ASeat&hash=item2a404dca68 What do you mean by no insurance issues? If there not factory fit wheels then you will need to inform your insurance company and it will more than likely cost more to insure. Ive bought a set of michelin alpin tyres for the winter, i am planing on getting some Team dynamics 1.2 or quite fancy some cades tora in black 8" front 9" rears
  12. looks like somethings missing. dont like it personally. audi did that with the TT and called it amplified package
