  1. Just an update on my bend lighting issue. It went into the dealer today and GFF led them to both cornering bulbs being blown which they replaced free of charge.
  2. Apparently the Stage 1 Bluefin is imminent and will soon be selectable on the Bluefin website.
  3. Thanks for that. I thought it may have been something to do with a bulb but couldn't understand as the headlights seemed to be working normally. Could indeed be the cornering sideways ones. Either way I will let the dealer have a look. Many thanks
  4. Hi Has anyone had this yellow triangle error pop up before? Error: Bend Lighting (AFS) Had it for the first time tonight so I stopped and turned off the engine and restarted. The headlights went through their self check as normal and the fault cleared. A few minutes later it was back. BTW, bend lighting seems to be operating as it should even with the warning triangle on. Thanks for any help
  5. Under certain conditions, such as disabling ECS, the ACC is disabled.
  6. ...................... Is this mismatch because the manual refers to a 2WD car and the R is AWD? Is TCS an integral part of ESC in AWD? Nothing definitive but: VW phoned me back today and, basically, confirmed "what you have is the manual". So, in reality and has been stated on other threads - The Forum is the manual Regarding disarming safety systems if you get completely bogged in snow / can't quite crest an icy hill scenario: In my manual R - 1 press disarms TCS - a longer, subsequent press disarms ESC I have done this 'on the move' and where safe, without a problem, to confirm that it is possible. Being a manual, there is no 'launch' mode to have to consider and having not used that, WRT DSG, I know nothing Regards So I assume that even after the long press and therefore ESC & TCS off, Haldex still moves the power around to provide the best traction?
  7. just got 2 new conti 5s for the front. £108.00 each all in.
  8. When I first got my DSG 7R in March having come from a manual 6R I also thought that it felt lacklustre in terms of power/torque. I even posted as much: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4930 But when you actually time the thing, despite feeling not as torquey, it is doing the business. It is considerably quicker than my 6R, although the DSG power delivery is so linear it doesn't feel like it. When I set the digital speedo up on the display and floor it, it almost can't keep up. In summary, it definitely doesn't feel as quick but it definitely is much quicker than my 6R. Even pulling away at traffic lights, the DSG changing gear for me just seems to make it impossible for anything else to keep up, even when not trying.
  9. My experience with Front Assist is as follows. I have had a few activations whereby the red chevron sign pops up and the alarm sounds but never had the brakes slammed on for me. I have had what I guess is a warning where the front brakes seem to rapidly pulsate on and off but again no slamming on of brakes. In all instances, I have easily overridden it by simply pressing the gas pedal and pressing 'ok' on the wheel to remove the warning. I would say that in all but one instance, the intervention was warranted. The system seems hyper sensitive to cyclists for some reason. On balance, I think it is better to leave it on (in my case). Instances of slamming on the brakes and bringing the car to a stop shouldn't happen if overridden early enough.
  10. Was thinking more in terms of what safeguards you lose with each setting.
  11. Out of interest what is the difference between ESP partially off and fully off?
  12. That's quite interesting as there has been discussion elsewhere on the response times of Haldex 5 vs Haldex 4 http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.p ... then-Gen-4 "It is when the model is building pressure from zero or a very low pressure that it differs from the tests." This would echo my experiences of the delay in traction when pulling away from a standstill or out of a junction. All I can say is that I found it virtually impossible to get any front wheelspin with my 6R in the wet but the 7R is noticeably slower getting power to the back.
  13. In my experience, the 7R is definitely more fwd biased than my 6R was. Especially in the wet the fronts let go before the gizmos sort it out. This was not something I experienced with my 6R.
  14. Totally agree. I was resistant to it at first but now I love it. Autohold is a godsend with the DSG as it stops creep with no effort from me. The electronic handbrake is so easy to put on and off. Stop-Start can be easily manipulated with pressure on the brake pedal and once you get used to it it is great. I don't use it that much but when I want to it's so easy. Engine starts in a split second and unless you want a racing start, delay is minimal.
  15. My dealer is going to fix my rear spoiler trim by using windscreen adhesive when it goes in for its first service in about 1000 miles. Plus side is it won't ever come off, but on a negative note, if the rear glass ever needs replacing the whole lot will have to come off.
