How would you ever know if it's been repaired properly!! you could be driving a death trap!! avoid at all costs!

Thanks for all your help guys ,over the past six years ! if anyone wants a superb golf R It is up for sale at Stoneacre Volvo Chesterfield. I can assure anyone who buys it ,that it's in fantastic condition throughout and not been chipped ,but has lived a cherish life! I traded it in for a Volvo T5 recharge , if anyone wants to know anything about the car message me or ask on this thread ! Would love it to go to a good home! The R has been an astounding car ,but I am 73 ,and looking to get something more fitting to my age ,have just bought a volvo xc40 t5 plugin recharge only 40 hp less than the R so it fly's, My R looks like and drives like the day I bought it six years ago ,only faults were two abs sensors , I will miss this car immensely but fed up with staring at the potholes leaping up at my luverly Prettorias. Had this recently , ABS sensor put it right!

DSG since 2005 would never go back !

If all else fails as I found ,nothing matched , try Holts HL GREY M01 .

I would literally run a mile from that car ! unless you wish to risk your money ,but more so you are risking your own and possibly friends or families safety, who knows what bodgers may have worked on this car ," walk away "

Probably another abs sensor ,easy to do this yourself, It's common with all VW vehicles!

This is mine , Just make sure you have no raised alloy , before applying alloy filler, is really good and silver , Then sand flat , I used no primer as this effects the finished colour. Just make sure the repair is good before painting ,if you can feel it with your fingertips with your eyes closed, it will not be good enough. Two or three coats of colour semi drying between coats ,say 5 mins ,then two coats of lacquer with delay between coats to flash off .! I now have to really study the wheels to find repair!!

Ok will give this a try ! There is some brown shading on finished photos ,but that is just light reflection! You can see the location of the repairs by the damaged pic tyre markings !

They just replaced it £120 which I thought was reasonable , it had diagnostics done yesterday, but when driving it to get it repaired today all lights cleared and everything back to normal ,so had it fitted anyway , first fault with car since new !

Ok guys! Have finally found a colour match I am really happy with for my Prets repairs, I have tried many including ordering the vw code L249 witch is far to dark, Then stumbled across this ! Holts HL GREY M01 . Bingo I now have prets like new again, about £8 a can plus a can of Holts Acrylic clear lacquer. So hope this helps those of you who have been struggling ,like me to achieve a match.

Haven't got a scanner, Will check around the sensors tomorrow, if not it will have to go to the stealers ,first problem in 5 years of ownership, so not bad. Thanks for your help!!!

Cleaned my wheels last night after driving forty miles today had the following dash lights , Tyre pressure fault ! ABS failure! ABS icon! Skidding car icon! Red exclamation icon , visit workshop! parking brake failure!! could all these be caused by one thing ,like Abs sensor , low brake pad warning , Stopped car and equalized tyre pressures ,could not reset tyre monitor as it says this is not available! Car has just completed 20,000 miles 2015 model , any pointers please !

Still working on it bought another silver today ,so will update you if it's any good!

Have just been trying to repair my lightly scratched Prets ,The vw paint code is far to dark as has been discussed on other threads . Has anyone discovered a spray can that matches ,I am getting very close but not quite there yet !

I have been thinking of selling mine December 2015 ,Lapiz /Prets /Full Leather , Mint with just 20,000 miles , the lowest I have been offered this week is 19200 !

Had this battery problem with my van, new best quality battery 18 months ago,took van on long run to charge it,one week later sluggish starting again . Went back to supplier ,they told me to put it on a 12 hour charge as they said it will not recover a full charge in vehicle usage when it gets really low. " If it doesn't cure it no prob they will replace it ",six months later the battery is still perfect ! so they were completely correct , so give it a try!!
