  1. I think it was a wrong move by JCT600 to close down the Chesterfield branch, for me it offered a more individual/personal service as I had been going there since 2004 and knew most of the staff. Meadowhead is dealing with around 60 cars per day which doesn't give me confidence about the standard of work. Luckily on this occasion all went fine.
  2. Hi, Yes, from Sheffield so used the Sheffield JCT600 branch. I didn't need the calibration so never got around to getting a true costing for that. I only had the bumper taken off and the front grille replaced. I managed to get £50.00 knocked off due to my original JCT600 Chesterfield being closed down and me having to move to this branch
  3. Hi Simon, You can get the parts from your local Volkswagen dealership, parts department. That's what I did. *update* I ended up getting my Volkswagen dealership to do the work in the end. It ended up costing £178 with me supplying the grille.
  4. 10,300 miles in and getting a consistent 35-38mpg daily [emoji106]
  5. I get a easy 36-38mpg doing a constant 70mph via ACC to work, it's a 50 mile trip. My average mpg since buying the R is 32.2mpg
  6. Update folks, not good news... to replace the lower grill it's about 2.5 hours work as it's a bumper off jobbie (£252 approx) Also they can check the ACC if it needs calibrating which will cost another £252 approx. Parts as follows:- W5G0 853 677 G0 41 Grille £30.80 (black gloss) W5G0 907 225 B9 B9 Trim £2.91 (ACC housing)
  7. Apparently.... ACC adjustments are required if the following issues occur:- a) Rear axle toe is adjusted Accident damage to front cross member c) If the sensor is renewed d) If the overall sensor angle is out by + - 0.8 You can check the “Measured Value Block 2†on the ACC Control Unit which will indicate whether or not the sensor is out of adjustment. Will report back if true.
  8. How did you know it needed calibration?I've contacted my dealership about it so will see what they say.
  9. Tested the ACC for around 300 miles during a visit to Scotland. No issues yet.
  10. Hi all, Sorry if this is a repost but couldn't find what I was looking for by searching. Anybody know how difficult it is to replace the lower front gloss black bumper grill and the ACC sensor housing? Had a head on compact with a pheasant Already ordered the parts which came to £40.38 which I thought was cheap. Anybody got instructions? Kind regards, Riz
  11. Mine are up for grabs folks Golf R (MK7) - Dynamic Tail Lights LED Adaptor Kit. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=http://www.vwroc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15042-Golf-R-%28MK7%29---Dynamic-Tail-Lights-LED-Adaptor-Kit%2E&share_tid=15042&share_fid=193442&share_type=t Cheers, Riz
  12. I've had the carsystem plug in mod for a while now, works a treat and a 5-10 min job to fit.
  13. Having owned 2 original Golf R32's (MK4) I'd agreed but apart from the engine noise it had the dynamic handling of a brick. Heavy front end etc. However even with its faults it felt a very special car. I sold my mint low mileage R32 back in 2014 for what could be describe as a offer to good to turn down so I let it go.
  14. I'm interested in this too, will it allow me to do things like change LED light brightness for from U LED's and activate extended rear brake lights etc?How do you disable auto stop-start? Which cable did you buy?
