Sounds good. I’m waiting on my detailer to give me a pack with snow foam, shampoo, tar remover and iron fallout remover. They’ll be the products they use in the prep prior to coating.

It’s going in today for front end ppf and ceramic coating 👍🏼

After 20 months of ownership I’ve traded my R20 and purchased an Audi RS3 8.5Y facelift. Had to wait almost 5 months for delivery but well worth the wait. Colour is Daytona grey pearl. The 1,000 mile running in period is going to seem like forever. Car going in next week for front end ppf and ceramic coating. I know, wheels are going to be a nightmare to clean 😊

Yes, Daytona

First impressions, car is amazing. Performing the running in period for the first 1000 miles. Booked in next week for front end ppf and ceramic coating

Yes it was the 5 cyl lure tbh. The last version before the RS3 goes hybrid apparently. They’ll probably finish with a very expensive GT version is rumoured. I’ll post a pic and let you know my views of it. The R20 does seem to be desirable and hold its value quite well. The Akra helped in my case

After 21 months of ownership, my R20 has now sold. Awaiting the delivery of my RS3 within the next 2 weeks. Audi have agreed to loan me a manual Q2 in the meantime!
-
The service intervals from factory are set at variable. A lot of owners switch to fixed servicing where there is a minor (oil service) and then an inspection service the following year.

Fault reoccurred. New gearbox on order now. Good job it’s under warranty and not been remapped!

1500km I believe the manual says

Yes 2024 R 20. Apparently not that common but still happens. Frustrating as car out of action for up to 2 weeks whilst they source the mechatronics
-
Car has been diagnosed and a new mechatronics unit has been ordered. 7 - 10 days from Germany as it has to be coded to the car chassis number apparently. 18 months old with 9,100 miles!

Gearbox in emergency mode. You can drive on - error has appeared. Restarted car and error has disappeared but amber engine management light has come on. Hoping it is software related, calling the dealership in the morning

Thanks Bec, will do

I've had my R20 since April 2024 but just ordered an RS3 Carbon Vorsprung. I didn't think I'd be changing this soon but due to the recent facelift and also being the last of the 5 cylinder version, is what convinced me. Due to be delivered December / January time

I had this too whilst approaching and leaving Heathrow. I assume it thought I was on the runway and needed to increase speed for takeoff. You can switch it off in the menu for lane assist (assist systems), scroll down to speed ACC and untick that

8R Quick Question and general chat thread

Yes, same BHP, anti lag turbo etc. -
My 24 plate R20 has no issues and my son has a 73 plate R20 issue free also. The infotainment screen can be a bit laggy but you get used to that. The ACC did detect the speed limit at 100mph around Heathrow airport but I’ve since toggled off the setting to adjust speed automatically.

Had this loose on mine. The clunking noise it was making on a motorway I thought my Akra was falling off. Noticed it by chance after pulling it to a service station to check
-
I had a Racingline gas strut as a Christmas pressie. Took a few minutes to fit and remove the original. Very pleased, should have been OEM

I thought mine had picked up a fault. I had the back seats down and 2 suit cases in the car. When I was slowing down or going over bumps there was a clunking noise that I though was the exhaust had worked loose. Long story short, after pulling over for a 2nd time I lifted the floor of the boot and noticed the centre bolt that holds the sub (where a spare wheel would be) / wheel repair was loose and clunking on the metal boot floor below. Was a relief when I noticed it and not sure how I noticed it tbh. The noise was quite scary and certainly didn't want my Akra to fall off

Personally I'd go for the white. The black wheels, mirror caps, badges etc etc look really against the white. Black roof and / or pano also. Totally blacked out, black on black is too much for me
