  1. Gave mine a clean and the wife wanted her California done as well which I hate doing. I coated the van in AF Caramics at the beginning of the year and I'll admit that all these years I thought ceramic coating was a gimmick. The van barely had any dirt on it!!! Took only 40 minutes to wash and dry it were usually it's over an hour and always covered in muck were I neglect it. So that's it for me no more wax on the R I'm now a believer. Ceramic is defo not snake oil Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. I try not too but it's a big difference. When I got the first renewal they wanted £1000!!!! I said its a Golf not Lambo. Most of my family in Enfield car insurance is still cheaper than mine and I know they all got the hump when there's jumped up because it's now classed as a riot zone thanks to the London riots
  3. Just spoke to Chris Knott and got it added at no extra cost (for now) but I bet come renewal time i'll get shafted again. I'm 36 and paying £100 more than Josh for a standard car!!!!
  4. Would it be worth telling the insurance if you have a res delete? Asking for a friend

Mine is after the character from 'metal gear solid 2' one of the best games ever made. I've used it as a user name for years. Couldn't really think of anything else to use when I joined up here but for me it's easy to remember when signing up for stuff. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah that foam i've not heard good things about it. 1 guy on the Audi sport forum said it caused issues with the car afterwards and he got rid of it in the end. Walnut is the way to go
  7. I had 3 cars in a row with V6 engines so I thought maybe they run better on better fuel but the S3 also hated it. I also ran a 2003 mini with the jcw upgrade and that had a superchips map and that was fine on Sainsbury's stuff. Like you say it's weird but I'm thinking maybe it's the way the engines are broken in when brand new may have something to do with it? Or as the R has a good quality engine it must cope better? Who knows Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. My R32 and S3 8P just ran rough with Sainsbury fuel. Golf has been fine with it plus I get nectar points 😉
  9. Luckily it was a bulb in the end [emoji6] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. I did try different amounts but even half a cap full in a five litre bucket it still left marks on my paint. I know a lot of people rate it but for what you pay there are cheaper brands which are as good or better. Years ago I used to dodo juice but the prices they charge are just stupid now!!! Only stuff I buy from them is the supernatural shampoo for the summer as I find fine to use in direct sunlight and the supernatural machine stick as that is so easy to apply and quick to use
  11. Gyeon wet coat is good but the rest of there stuff I couldn't get on with. The plus shampoo kept leaving residue on the paint and the anti fog made my windows worse. Someone told me to switch to AF and been using them ever since but the aquacoat has been a nightmare Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Totally agree its peace of mind but my mate said this to me years ago as I was always buying AA cover. How many times have I broken down? If green flag is £8 per month and you don't need them for a couple years that's almost £200 a year saved. I do 40 miles a day 5 days a week for work and not needed it in the 13 years going to and from. Just make sure your phone is charged and you always have your wallet. After a couple years you'll say to yourself why do I pay out money every year for something I never use
  13. I don't bother because you can join with anyone on the spot over the phone if you breakdown. I haven't broken down for about 13 years until a few months (used the free vw service) but if I did then I know I'm covered for a whole year if I actually buy it. You'll save a small fortune As soon as my niece passed her test I said don't bother like your parents just join when it happens. She broke for the first time in 4 years a couple weeks ago Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. This happened to me last year with 2 vehicles and it's was a f**king nightmare to get off. Did it on a black van in the summer time and only thing that shifted it was AP cleaner after trying lots of stuff. So I thought it was a one off as I've used this stuff lots of times before. So tried it on my wife's white California and f*#ked up again. AP didn't work and ended up using tar remover and clay on the body work. Stuck like s**t to a blanket on the glass. Think in the end tar remover got it off. Use it on my R and it's fine. I can only think as I take extra care maintaining my paint the stuff doesn't cling to any dirt or decontamination. Could be wrong but would love to know an easier way to get it off if it happened again. But now I only strictly use it on my car. Maybe the stuff has a shelf life? I bought it 3 years ago and the first year no issues on any cars but last year I got screwed with it. Good luck. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. I use it now and again and it's fine. A few previous cars I had didn't like the stuff Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
