To follow the traffic on motorways in Norway, (110km/t limit) it passes 2.5k (at least on 6-speed mk7 estate). Could crank up the stereo (dynaudio), but that is also annoying on 7-8 hours drive. Its not easy to get it right, as we testdrove an Audi C7 S6, but it was to quite when we wanted some noice. And the fake sound from the stereo (Audi uses the stereo) isn't the sound I want, as I also wanted more sound on the outside. But all in all the sound was nicer then our 4cyl Golf R engine being av V8biturbo, but it wasnt perfect and therefore was not worth the extra money. Might be better with the mk7.5 7-speed estate? But of course that doesnt solve the issue, as I cant change car without loosing money. We rearly lease cars in Norway, because we are cheap bastards that saves on every nickel when it isn't investment giving excessive money in return. Some states are for famous for it, then others 😛

I got a normal resonator delete (2,5) and it drones especially from 2500 to 3000. The sweet spot for my mk7 estate on the highways in Norway. I only keep it because I cant afford prioritice a catback, but the wife is not happy. Saying I ruined our car for longer drives. I dont know which catback or turboback would suite us best, but it should probably have flaps and thats expensive. I do like the difference in modes after the resonator delete. The pops and bangs on overrun when I come off the gas is only noriceable in Sport/Manual after being in Sport mode first. Something changes in the tune with sport that the resonator used to delete a lot of.

Any Golf R owners based on Orlando, Florida, that would fancy a meetup while I'm staying there for a week late september? :) Rented a car I would like to match up with the Golf R, but my car is staying home in Norway.

That would be right where I wish I was, with a resonated turboback exhaust and crackle tune in Sport/Race, but until someone would be my sponsor, I have to purchase diapers, babycaller, clothes, etc, before stage 2 Also need a second car, so the wifey doesnt allways have to drive a louder car. Will probably be a e-Golf or Golf GTE Had a mk7 e-Golf before, and it is so quiet, which could be a problem when I want our familywagon to be stage 2 Luckily for BCS, I have to wait, even though I am very bad at this game

I am not very good at that game m8 And the catbacks and turbobacks are to expensive at the moment. I see people report drone/no-drone from various types of resonator deletes, so it might not be a drone problem. But there is for sure certain frequenzies in my 2,5" resonator delete around 2600-3500 rpm I dont want to have. It gets wurse if I push the gas pedal even a little bit, just because there is a small hill infront or something. Not looking forward to longer trips with this resonator delete. Starting to think a resonated catback is the only option, but compared to the resonator delete I have, it seems like alot of money for just alittle more sound. If you dont plan a turboback for stage 2 tuning, cause then it is a prereq anyway. I did get a good offer on Milltek Resonated Catback, but with a resonator (Road+) which is in the middle of the regular Milltek resonator and the non-resonated version. But even for the money of 14k (NOK - Norwegian Kroner, is about 1300£ without fitting) I would really like to know I (and wife) will like the result. Don't know if I will find anyone with this setup, but I created this thread about it. Allthough it is half the price of what I got for the BCS PowerValve catback from my norwegian BSC dealer. Dont get me wrong @nige bcs, it is probably worth it in time, material and quality Even wurse is the armytrix coming in at third times as expensive as this Milltek setup, allthough it has valves.

The big estate journey to a suiteable exhaust system for the car. While Nige as BCS sorts out an anti-drone resonator delete, I am looking into our options. Got a nice price on a Milltek Catback with a resonator they call Road+ which should be in the middle of resonated and the none resonated version. Anyone tested this? Anyone seen videos? Prefered with open valves as that would be like the estate.

Come on people We need to catch someone with a mk7 estate, perhaps the local VW dealer could help us out? They probably dont have an old estate like ours, but perhaps they could ask a customer. Its not the typical family estate, and I even start to wonder if I need to buy a hatchback and have a Passat GTE as daily and longer trips. Rather than having this estate for longer trips and the e-Golf for daily trips.

I am in contact with him Awaiting response from him as well, but it is stated on this forum somewhere, this is isnt developed for the estate/wagon, which I have. So figured I could get in contact with the maker, and perhaps togethere we could make it happen.

What would that be outside of UK? Seems I am typing it wrong.
