This was a "thing" in the Middle East, people would leave the cellophane wrap on the seats so that the seats didn't wear and it still looked new. Bear in mind plastic and 50 degree heat arent a great mix. I even got taxi's where the wrap was still on the seat. Yuck.

Just tried Aviva. Standard 8.5R. 47 year old driver only. Fully comp inc. business usage. 5 years NCD. Came in over £1000. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah it was 3 years on my 7.5R too. I didn't extend the service as I used third-party navigation apps and there didnt seem much more benefit in having it. The most useful feature that VW removed was the vehicle speed alerts. This is how I knew the VW dealer was "road-testing"/ joy-riding my car at over 90mph on multiple separate occasions as previously mentioned. Does anyone find that the latest software/ connectivity is useful?

Are there any advantages/ disadvantages of activating the mobile online services ahead of the collection of my vehicle next week? Will it enable me to view vehicle info for example? On the flip side if I do activate it "early", do i eat into any free trial software etc?

Genuine query - is there any difference between BE seats/ interior and non-BE? I didn't think there was but happy to be informed otherwise.

Yeah same, was June for me too, on a 26 week lead-in. When the timeframe was looking close to the March threshold I was looking to delay collection to get a 25 plate. As it may be a lot sooner I don't mind, I'd rather just have the car. I had queried whether a delayed collection would be possible with March in mind but was told it wouldnt be possible as the order was via DriveTheDeal. Worth noting to those that it relates to, if the vehicle is procured via Drive The Deal, quote "You must also pay for the car in full and take delivery within the same month it arrives with the dealer.".

Less than 3 weeks between leaving the factory and arriving at the dealership sounds extremely quick (and great)!. Is that the kind of timeframe those who have received their vehicles already have experienced? I've lost track of the order progression through posts. @Nighthawk this would mean our orders are due to arrive imminently (based on BW2 and build date for me of 06.01.25).

Agree with this. I used my local dealership for warranty repairs. If escalated to the point of handing the vehicle back then the original retailer would need to be given opportunity to review and repair issues.

Same question but relating to a replacement “performance” air filter. Notifiable to insurers? A friend of mine may have always done this but the quoted post made me, erm, them, think twice. Can't imagine an orange would get sucked into it, but hey you never know. Better safe than sorry. 😃

This was the basis of my original query re no screw fixing i.e. is there a flat enough surface or even what is the flat surface? The front mounting bracket/ moulding looks good so i will sticky pad fix onto that. It's the visible fixings I'm trying to avoid.

Is the expectation a full tank of fuel and how did you wrangle getting the dealer to the petrol station, did you kidnap them? Any advice on how to achieve this relationship with VW retail? The best I got from my local dealership was when they had ragged my car at over 90mph on 50mph limit roads for “road testing”…on TWO separate occasions and the manager told me “well…you don’t buy a car like this to drive it slowly do you”. 🤬
