  1. Thanks gregozedobe. BTW, I was already in race mode (always in race mode) so all I had to do was pull the paddles towards me, press the TC/ESC and hold the brake and floor the accelerator - Please let me know if it works for you
  2. I mean the gear shift paddles behind the steering wheel. If you pull them both together towards you then the car will get itself into launch control. I had never seen this method before until I saw a Porsche do it on Top Gear so I tried it with my golf and hey presto it works!
  3. Hi, Has anyone any experience of using the paddles to set up lanch control? Tried it and it was quick only forgot to turn of esc! Doh!!!
  4. Finally decided to go with the R600, reroute coolant pipe and APR turbo intake elbow. i can really feel the response now is fantasticly quicker than before, really happy!
  5. Thank you very mcuh for taking the time to respond to my plea for help. I will get it done ASAP - Hope its not too loud though!
  6. Hi, I have a stage 2 r was was thinking about fitting the R600 intake with the Turbo Technics Large Bore Intake Hose and Bell Mouth, anyone had experience of this set up? Thoughts?
  7. Thanks everyone I will give it a go with something other than soap and water, What are the thoughts on carbon caps ?
  8. All, Many thanks for all the replys. regaridng if they are actualy chore dont know lets say shinney bits on the grill and wing morors. Dont really live on or near a main road or railway just strange bubbule ilke eruptions.
  9. Hi all, I have a Mk7.5 2017 Black VW Golf R (10,054 miles 0nly) and all the chrome bits are starting to show small areas of pitting/rusting. Is there a fix? Are the chrome parts covered under warranty? Thanks in advance
  10. Can anyone let me know if there is any significant noise inside teh car with the R600 and TT intake pipe fitted? Thank you
  11. Hi All, I am about to fit a R600 intake, TT intake pipe (in black VRS) and the coolant divert pipe I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this setup vs the R600 intake, Racinglines intake pipe and elbow? I Cost is about the same either way)! The people at VRS say overall the TT intake pipe solution gives better overall performance as the airflow is far better to the turbo, i.e. Larger pipe bore and no elbow restriction.
  12. Nice looking "R" but really need that finance sorted first, take no chances!
  13. Looks really good. So what the tune APR? Also what figures is it producing in terms of torque/BHP
  14. Sticking true to my user name there is only one choice! the elbow and the inlet pipe. Which ever option you choose I am sure you will have fun with it! Especially connected to a CAI system
  15. Some great times there, well done. Keep safe
  16. Some great colours, I have also seen a canary yellow, looks amazing
  17. Yes I would also say this is the case with mine
  18. I have to say that I am in agreement with goodbadboy, 7.5R, AWD all the way
  19. Like i mentioned in my last post it is a little louder in the cabin but nothing too bad. I do not really notice the drone and I am always in Race mode. I am also in my late 50's and did not opt for additional pops and bangs. I cannot say in all honesty that mine is a daily driver, it is a July 2017 mk 7.5 model and only has around 6000 miles on it. My other half has her car and we generally use that for daily driving, that said I take mine when needed to visit the office so long trips and I am okay with the exhaust notes! I think the CAI generates more noise than the exhaust.
  20. Yes a complete end to end APR exhaust so this and this . It really is amazing quality and a great sound.
  21. Looks good, I do not know if I will ever track the car but I know APR also make one that attached to the CAI. Keep us informed about the Remus, thought about it also but went for APR in the end.
  22. All, Thanks for the responses to my post; I hope to answer some of the questions raised, sorry about the formal approach: Cost: APR DP + sports cat = 960 APR stage 2 tune = free (already stage 1) APR TCU tune = 800 APR pendulum mount = 260 APR dogbone insert = 60 @R3DM – prices above @SpursMadDave – yes I am and possibly a fool! However I do like what they do and its real quality. @msportman – I am running file version 2.7 @scv7r - It runs really “smooth, nice” in the words of a certain jazz show presenter…… Excellent power delivery all through the bands and the gear changes are well faster and seamless. There is a noticeable increase in DB’s from the downpipe but nothing to lary. I did not opt for the additional pops and bangs. I want to try and keep it a sleeper if I can! I am exceptionally pleased and the performance is unreal. So next year it will be the APR intercooler! Another 1k……………….. All work carried out by TURNER RACE DEVELOPMENTS Dan and Jamie are simply great guys and exceptionally knowledgeable, check them out!
