Agreed John, I find myself swerving about to avoid them all the time at the moment. There's always those times when they are unavoidable though and you just have to grit teeth and go over them. I don't see them being fixed anytime soon with local councils close to bankruptcy around the country

Today I went over an unavoidable pot hole that produced an extremely unpleasant bang and set half the sensors off in my 8R. I actually pulled over and went back to take several pictures of it in case it's f***ed my wheel or tyre. I wouldn't mind but I had 2x new Michelin 4S fitted to the front last weekend! The roads around where I live are a complete disgrace at the moment. Glad to see the extra tax I pay for a 'luxury car' is being well spent. Need tractor wheels in Cheshire at the moment.

Whoever built the spec originally must have deemed it unnecessary, it has heated front seats so maybe not justified. It's annoying though, I'm pretty sure my first car (mk3 Fiesta) had that function 😂

Evening all - has anyone had issues with the cup holder arm spring or know how to get access to it for replacement/repair? I seem to have developed an annoying habit of opening and closing the cup holder arm that rotates out whilst driving, which has resulted in a 'ping' and now a lack of spring loadedness. It's really minor but it's bugging me!

Thanks @Booth11 My 8R is a 21 plate in black with the performance pack, adaptive dampers, Akrapovic Exhaust, leather interior, rear view camera, HUD and sunroof. I love the car but there are a few niggles, it's about to go in for a steering wheel replacement to fix a fault and it's had a few recalls. I've literally just got the replacement engine cover having never had one since I bought it. Main gripe is despite the heavy specification, it doesn't have a screen wash sensor - madness! It's coming up to warranty expiry so I might start tinkering with it soon.

Have had a few Golf's over the years but always wanted an R, so treated myself last year.
