  1. It might turn up January regardless. My last one was ordered at similar time and didn't show until March. Although it's build date was the beginning of January. I think when it comes to resale, people look more at the reg year mark. If it says 76, they'll just automatically jump to September. For resale always best around march, April, may etc. October, November and so on, dealers offer less I've found. People are focused on the holidays rather than buying cars. You'll find the R holds pretty strong values. Still, march got me better offers than winter.
  2. I was told December. I'm assuming mines build week 46. Not a clue how, unless the dealer had a slot open up. Week 49 I'd guess Jan/Feb. Unless it makes the same ship and transport is all good.
  3. Honestly, I am in disbelief about it. After seeing your original post stating January, I thought yours would be locked in for then. I had March to May noted for my own collection. It must be a parts issue. The higher-cost options, like the exhaust and roof, seem to delay builds. I've noticed that trend from other posts on here. However, I did order my last Golf, similar spec but Lapiz with HK, around October, and it didn't show until late Feb/March.
  4. I ordered in September, confirmed on the 24th. I was told 6 to 8 month wait. That was partly the reason I ordered. Golf R BE Dolphin grey DCC Area view Got an email from VW, factory build date 12/11/2026 Phone call from dealer to confirm yesterday. They think it'll be delivered in December. No idea how it's gone from 6/8 months to 3 months if they're right.
  5. I just love an in-your-face colour; I have had a few bright greens, blues, and an orange in the past. I like the new dark green Audi/VW have; it is a shame they have not put it on the R, or I would have had it 😅 You won't regret Lapiz. Every time I see one I regret selling mine ahha. I got the R, RS3 and The new R all using drivethedeal. Nobody can get near their price. You just have to be willing to travel to get them sometimes.
  6. Honestly, it was a mega car to look at, especially in green. It just wasn't all-round practical for daily life, especially since I got a saloon, I had always wanted an Audi A3 saloon years ago, so it made sense for the RS3. Pic of it with the reason I sold it next to it below 😅 I've looked at GTI's too but the R BE comes out better on price somehow 🤷 especially on websites like drivethedeal.com. As for Lapiz being more likely to be stolen, I wouldn't say so. They would probably go for black or grey, as those blend in better. I've never bothered with anti-theft equipment. If someone truly wants it, they will come into your home and take the key these days.
  7. I sold it in March for an RS3. The Golf, in my opinion, is a better daily. The RS3 sounded great, but it felt heavy and the turbo lag was very noticeable. You see DG on almost every VW. I actually saw it on a standard Golf last week, it looked bland. Pictures of DG on the R, though, make it look a bit more menacing—understated to those who haven't a clue what it is. Lapiz is definitely the one I would get if I had not had that colour before. I have known a few in the Ford scene who got PPF and used hand car washes. They got hammered in the comments, but their paint was fully protected, so they did not care. As for what their products or jet washes did to the PPF, I could not comment, as they never mentioned it.
  8. I've struggled on colour too. If they had a mad bright colour I'd almost certainly pick that. I had a Lapiz blue previously. Initially I was going white but decided Lapiz since it's the R signature colour. I've just ordered another this time Dolphin, just because I think the BE suits it better. For your washing question, the grey might hide dirt better but ultimately dark colours typically look dirty pretty quickly. PPF is subjective, it can protect from minor chips and scratches. However if not maintained, edges can get dirt under them and even go moldy. Also to be noted... you'll never see a return on investment if or when you come to sell. Pic of my old Lapiz that was ceramic coated and full front end PPF'd
  9. Probably the very same car autocar are claiming to be the 5 pot 😅 It's probably more likely to be the R CS. I love my R but if it was pushed nearer the RS3 price, I'd just get one of them instead. Especially the saloon version, I've always liked the look and the bright colours too.
  10. True. We're probably just looking at a continuation of the R CS. It would make little sense to bring out another with the 2.5 engine the car was never designed for. We'll see in the next 6 months or so though.
  11. Doubtful, because people are already complaining about the current Golf prices... imagine how much this one off would cost. The reason Ford killed off the RS was for limited sales, the cost to produce didn't make sense. If the Golf gets nearer RS3 money, I'm sure people would just get the RS3 instead.
  12. Anyone had their driving profile completely disappear? Happened yesterday! It's like it's decided to log me out and clear it off the system. Not sure if a background update occurred and this happened as a result.
  13. Honestly I would only bolt them. I've seen many a horror story of them being glued or self tapered on.
