Resonated Vs Unresonated

I've been looking at the remus cat back but unsure on which path to take in regards to resonated or not. I have the standard exhaust just now with the valves coded open and dont get me wrong it sounds nice when your pressing on and stealthy enough when your just driving to the shops but theres always that part of me that thinks it could be a bit louder. I would be going for a valved system either way but from any remus owners is there a huge difference between resonated and unresonated?

I am getting a resonated Remus installed next week. I had the same question but decided to play it safe and go with resonated option. Hopefully not too quiet!

Would be great see a video once its installed!

Have heard a resonated valved Remus in person, they are plenty loud enough and a very nice tone if you want the more loud aggressive raspy sound  then non res is the way to go.

Im pretty new to vw's so coming into mods for them a bit blind. My other car has 3" turbo back exhaust thats non resonated so im just trying to find a nice spot in between that and standard R 🤣 Its a fair chunk of cash for the system to not be happy with it!

I’ve just had the non res version fitted and whilst it’s loud with DSG in S it’s pretty subdued with the DSG in D in all modes

You’ll love the system regardless though and is definitely a worthwhile purchase 👍

Are you still running the standard downpipe or have you sports/decated? Reason I ask is when the warrantys up I was hoping to go stage 2. I wasnt sure how raspy it would get once thats fitted aswell as a cat back.

Ok with a res but very raspy without.

Still have the standard down pipe. It’s ridiculously loud even with the standard not entirely sure what it would sound like with a decat tbh

BCS system sounds great too...they offer two systems now one being their traditional Power-valve the latest is called WRC.

It surprising how loud my APR DP is mated to a stock system running stage 2  especially when it’s hot in S

I like the quietness for family duties and no motorway drone hence why up till now I’ve not swapped mine out.

Got my BCS WRC cat back arriving in a few weeks. It will be matched up with a scorpion 3" downpipe with sport cat. The no drone with bcs exhaust ticked the box for me. Had a scorpion and cobra previously and had to remove them due to bad drone.
