JP66
My bad because this started before the warranty expired, and I didn't take it to the dealer, but it was and is intermittent. The problem is the touch screen is jumping around acting as if a ghost is punching different inputs and the primary control knobs are ineffective as are the screen inputs. If I select a non-entertainment related screen like phone screen it stops. It seems to only affect entertainment screens. Any ideas? On a separate but related question, am I correct that there are no after radio control units that can be installed? Thanks for any help? P.S. The 30 second hold and reset does not fix the problem. The screens are relatively cheap and easy to swap so might not be too hard a hit to your pocket if its just a screen issue Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
JP66
Wow, you guys "R" fast 😆 Anyways, it's an 8 inch screen. I say replacing the "radio control unit" was like $1500 with labor and choked. Would be awesome if I could get away with just replacing the screen. SpursMadDave
Just for an idea obviously UK price and you can get them much cheaper if you shop around Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
JP66
Yes, it's the older style unit. I'm not averse to the upgrade idea so now just need to source the part here in the US. Quick Google search is so far not turning up anything, but I'm sure I'm just not using the right search terms. Thanks so much for the speedy reply and info. Hopefully the upgrade will fix the problem. SpursMadDave

Hopefully the upgrade will fix the problem.Have a search for 2nd hand ones as a lot of people upgrade the screens and then sell the old ones so that way you can get a bargain. If you can find someone local to you that will let you swap their screen to your car just to confirm the screen is the issue then that would be prefect.Just though it might be worth taking the screen out and checking the connector at the back is in properly? You just need some removal tools which are very cheap, some trim remover tools again cheap and a hex socket for the 4 bolts to remove the screen Good luck Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
8YARWY
Wife’s car has had this symptom for weeks now. Decided the 7.5 8” unit and mmi was the perfect upgrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk SpursMadDave

Do you have your phone plugged in via Carplay/Android Auto? I’ve experienced similar behaviour before and it was down to my phone screen thinking it was being pressed and sending signals to the head unit. Unplugging the phone, cleaning the screen (and a restart of the phone) cured it. Just a thought. Hmmm, just re-read your post and noticed “If I select a non-entertainment related screen like phone screen it stops” so probably unlikely! Can understand the USB swap but I thought you were going from 6.5" to 8" so cabling is the same? I guess it would rule out that being the issue though if that's your thinking Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
