  1. Hello all Mk7 R main rear Diff oil Which grade is correct from factory? GL5 - 75w/85 or GL5 - 75w/90 OE part number is G052145S2 but references both 75/85 and 75/90 on the Febi Bilistein website! thanks
  2. Excellent thanks for advice mate will do some digging this week 👍
  3. This is screen etc in mine https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173869998282
  4. Cheers mate Yes I can imagine it being eye watering price from dealership! Mine has engine sound adjustments in individual mode if that helps dictate between mib1/mib2 as I know the earlier mk7 R didn’t have adjustable soundaktor options on screen within individual driving mode! If it needs replacing I’ll have to go down ebay route then find someone to code it in! Issue wasn’t bothering me too much until recently but now it’s really annoying me! Had car nearly 4 years and plan to keep it for many more to come so price to sort it not bothering me too much, just want it sorting and preferably with a brand new unit! see if I can get some goodwill gesture discount off Volkswagen but unlikely as car is APR mapped 😉
  5. Odd one mate as just checked mine and that’s definitely part number on the one installed now Owned car from new! 65 plate car with non nav unit with standard smaller screen! 3Q0035820A is my current unit
  6. Yes fingers crossed otherwise will consider this and then need find someone to code it in! seller said 100% brand new and £220 delivered https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173845155014
  7. Same issues im having- https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23089
  8. Yes I have the smaller screen mate not interested in bigger screens or nav etc just need it working properly remembering Bluetooth and radio stations etc
  9. Anyone know if I purchase a brand new glovebox unit with same part number as one in there now will it be plug and play or will it need coding to car?
  10. Oh dear! This is exactly same issue as I’m getting! New unit in glovebox required by sounds of it! 😞 Will pull it out tomorrow and get part number from it! Assume it will need coding to car? https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23089
  11. Yes tried it few times mate no joy unfortunately frustrating thing is phone pairs up perfectly just once car is switched off it forgets the phone Tried Missus’s phone too - exactly same happens
  12. Yes all serviced at vw I will have to give them a call Tuesday
  13. Non satnav unit mate! unsure if would be free update too as 3.5 years old so expired warranty now 😞
  14. Thanks mate yes my plan would be to get a used unit and have someone code it to car etc! Unsure if the potential issue would be with the screen part in dash or the actual sd card module thingy in glove box!
  15. Evening I recently got new phone whenever connect it to car it works fine until turn engine off, come back half hour later and it’s forgotten phone and started searching for old phone! have deleted other phones numerous times but soon as leave car and return the old phone is back on there! Also always reverts to playing radio 1 regardless of what station or SD card album I was on when turning car off! Been told it could be software update needed but just asking here see if anyone else has experienced similar? and whether software update sorted it! 65 plate car with Non Nav unit fitted
  16. 225 tyres are not considered wide whatsoever in todays motors mate my sisters 1.2 2013 clio dynamique still has 195 tyres fitted! Days of 155 tyres are long behind us in most cases. Point I was making was my R drove straight out and the wifes GTD couldn't and neither could most of the 2wd neighbours one of which has a ford KA with bicycle width tyres so bang goes that theory ;-D
  17. Couldn't disagree more I'm affraid last winter we got hit quite hard with snow a few times Most of our neighbours in our culdesac had to dig cars out and clear the untreated road etc I just drove off of our sloped driveway in my R fitted with potenza's no problem whatsoever Wifes GTD wasn't going anywhere without a shovel
  18. Thanks Much good in the ice/snow? also ok in hotter weather?
  19. Evening all, considering a set of cross climate+ for my R to use all year round on my 18" Cadiz currently running factory supplied Bridgestone's Anyone else using these offer any feedback?
  20. Not all about bhp and torque on paper guys The in gear acceleration in the M140i, 240i, 440i etc is in a different league compared to a stock R Do a google search for 30-60mph etc Massively faster than the R! Drove my R at stock power for nearly 3 years, now I'm stage 1 hi torque Apr It's like night and day and I realised a stock R is actually quite slow! 440i isn't touching a decent stage 1 R You could then say just map the Bmw but putting that extra power down could be an issue
  21. Similar mate Bought my base spec pre reg zero miles back in early 2016 for just over £25k, still worth £19k+ now so 6k loss in 3 years some people have lost nearly 3 times that in same time frame (bonkers)
  22. Any M car is a different kettle of fish completely plus a base spec R is about half the cost of a M2 so hardly comparable For £36k you could get a cracking M2 I know which one I'd have 🙂
  23. Even at stage 1 hi torque I'm seriously chuffed with mine
