  1. This was at 2pm and I see this has gone.
  2. Any more pictures? For anyone else reading this, Vogtland have been about since 1908. They manufacture springs for Nascar and indy car teams in the USA as well as manufacturing springs for other brands. They make the springs for KW & ST and KW supply Vogtland with shocks for their coilover kits. A major player in the US market but for anyone in the UK you maybe will not have heard of them. I have a company in this field and we sell all sorts of brands and this is how I have come to know this. In my own cars I use Vogtland products, having tried all the others. For anyone considering them, go for it. Plus their prices are very good.
  3. For anyone else, did you ask the inspector if you needed to do it? I had Mercedes before and both times the inspector said as long as it is not more than 20 days over due a service then you do not need to do it. So on my second merc I ran the service over and had the first one at 14 months old so it had 60 days to next service on the computer. If anyone else stumbles across this, maybe you can ask the same question and update the forum. Save someone some money. I am on 15k miles in my Golf R today and never serviced it yet. It said oil service due and when in VW to book it in the service lady advised its long life and due at 20k. I spoke to one of the VW techs out back who is a friend of mine and he said, that is correct. Your computer should have been set as the lease vehicles from VW are supposed to be set at 20k intervals. He is setting mine on the VW computer on the car, I am just waiting to hear on a lease extension now and if its the right price I shall then book in for my 20k service now.
  4. Welcome, I also have one. Exhaust is louder on the estate. Its addictive with launch control. Enjoy
  5. It is hard to take advice from people who have tried only one spring kit. I myself like something a bit firmer and love the H&Rs. But then again someone who has not fitted springs or coilovers to a car before will perhaps complain they are to firm. Ask someone that has tried a handful of brands. I cannot say much for the Golf R but on past cars I have ran Bilstein, BC Racing, HSD, Vogtland, H&R, Eibach, PI, Apex, FK, Cobra and Raceland in mostly coilover form but some spring kits. I had eibach in my MK5 GTI the sportline kit and it was crashy. HSD coilovers in an E46 M3 (awful), Vogtland coilovers in an E46 M3 are amazing. H&R E46 M3 springs firm for C roads but on A & B roads they really improved the car. This is just my opinion of people on the forums and then they become biased towards the brand they selected.
  6. Pics of the lowered estates? I am lifting my R on Thursday. I will get the springs in. The wife ordered me a set of springs too as a surprise, unknowingly I had a set sitting in the garage already. Now I have two sets of H&R estate springs here.
