Supertech is a well known performance/racing parts manufacturer here in the US. 034 Motorsport uses Supertech parts when building their VAG racing engines. I'm not expecting performance gains from the valve change, just durability and reliability since materials are of higher quality and tolerances are more exact. A far as cams go, it seems that you are correct. From the conversations I've had with various VAG performance shops, there does not yet appear to be any aftermarket cams available. I have heard that certain performance companies explored higher lift cams on the platform, but performance gains were minimal and production was abandoned. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sorry. No links but this is the plan Supertech HD valve springs & titanium retainers Lifter shim kit Supertech undercut intake valves Supertech undercut exhaust valves ARP head studs I'm thinking I'll just get standard size valves from Supertech now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The car has plenty of power Stage 2. Already walks all the Mustangs/Camero/Chargers I could want. Stage 3 is just overkill. I want to feel completely comfortable abusing the engine without worry, hence the top end. My concern is that the increased airflow with the undercut valves would be more than the ECU could compensate for. I guess I'm hoping that anyone who may have rebuilt their top end would let me know that there's no issue with higher flow valves and a Stage 2 Flash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

True, but I'm already doing a top end so as long as I've got her apart, I figure why not. The top end is really for reliability more than anything with the possibility of going Stage 3 if I decide to pull the trigger on a turbo. Head studs, valve springs, titanium retainers, lifter shims, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Going to strengthen the top end on my Stage 2 R and (amongst other things) was thinking about replacing the OEM valves with supertech undercut valves to increase airflow. Has anyone used these? I'm concerned that the ECU Flash (APR) might not be compatible and cause issues. I contacted APR but they can't make any recommendations for liability reasons. I would expect the ECU to compensate but (obviously) I'd hate to have to do the top end twice. Any input would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good question. I haven't the foggiest. My car has been Stage 2 since a month after I got her so I figured the warranty was out the window for me anyway. My guess is that you just change everything back to stock and no one's the wiser. I could be wrong though. This Christmas gift came with 200 credits included. I 've already zeroed the soundactor, enabled remote windows, and changed the courtesy turn indicator from 3 to 5 and still have 170 credits left. Interface works great with my new Kindle Fire HD 8. Just had to mod it to allow Google Play to work. Sent from my KFGIWI using Tapatalk

So really there's no reason unless something's gone wrong then? Would you not be able to tell something went to crap just by driving it or by observing a difference in the factory boost gauge in the Performance Monitor. I know the factory boost doesn't account for atmospheric pressure, but that shouldn't matter if your just looking for a difference from 'normal' boost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I see a ton of info on the web about how to install a boost gauge, and I get the need if you're self modded, but if you have an off the shelf tune (APR say), is a boost gauge really necessary? Wouldn't it just indicate overboost if something has gone awry? I've never heard of a production APR tune overboosting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
