  1. So the estate turns 1 next week and I thought I would share a couple of points. 10'500 miles - just had first service and apart from an air bag recall and a blocked washer jet it's been a pleasure to live with. Long term fuel consumption has been 27mpg but to be honest that was never a concern or I would have stayed with the previous diesel. I love the way it gets down the road and sticks to it. I am forever leaving the heated mirrors switched on ( hope VW address this on the new model) Only other gripe would be the wear on the leather cover of the steering wheel - seems to be wearing where I get in and out of the car - anyone get any ideas what's best to treat the leather with ? Massive thumbs up to Archie Moss (Loughborough) - a pleasure to deal with when I brought the car and that continued when the car was serviced. Can't wait for the Mk8 ...
  2. Got my estate new last October and I've had exactly the same as you from day one, sounds like it is coming from the right rear of the car on mine but after trying to pip point where it exactly comes from I've had no luck. It only happens at 20mph or lower and it's a clicking noise, it's not got any better or worse from day one so I will just ask them to check it at it's first service.
  3. What golf ball from the gear lever ?
  4. Got my Lapiz R estate new in Oct 16, it's my daily driver and just coming up on 5000 miles. 19" Prets look great but road noise can be a pain on some surfaces. DCC - Love it , put the out laws in the back and select comfort mode for a Sunday afternoon ride out and it's as civilised as a Buckingham Palace garden party, drop them off at home and back into individual mode ( basically same settings as race but with soundaktor turned off ) and its gets a whole lot more fun. Soundaktor - WHY ? all it does is rattle the plastic trim around the interior mirror. Quad pipes with two fakes - WHY ? Id have preferred to have just two pipes like the GTI and not be continually cleaning the inner two. Fuel economy don't care - I average 27mpg doing a 32 mile daily run to work on A roads and duel carriageway. Dynaudio - Love the sound - if you like music on the move it's a no brainer for the money. Keyless - No issues with it. DSG - Get to know it, once you do it's a great box. Leather - It's far from the best quality leather I've had and for the extra money I could have lived without it. Over all I love the car, it puts a smile on my face every day I drive it.
  5. On the way to work yesterday evening and I have a 65plate Bentley in front, its a big lump of a thing with four doors in a terrible shade of chocolate brown. The driver is obviously in a bit of a rush as he only seems to have 2 positions for the loud peddle "on or off" and was quiet keen to get on, as we exit a roundabout where we go from single to duel carriageway I couldn't help but slip the DSG into manual and see just how quick the big B was. Well from 30 mph up to *** there was absolutely nothing in it, I couldn't gain on him and he couldn't get away. When I got into work I did a quick Google search and I think it was a flying spur, plenty of bhp but weighs about the same as a small house.
  6. Thanks all for your suggestions and help. Been out today and it appears to be the "sky" effect when zoomed, I tried zooming out and it's back to normal.
  7. Certainly seems to be the same effect in the video when he zooms as I am seeing on my screen. I will take a look in the morning and if all else fails I could even try reading the manual
  8. Sky effect ? I had never noticed it previously and have never changed the view between 2d and 3d but I will go and give it a try, is anyone else able to confirm that their screen looks the same as mine ? Have to admit I had only ever used the Nav system once before so have little experience of it.
  9. Just done the reset and it's still the same
  10. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  11. I'll try the reset later and see if that works, if not I will try and get a picture up loaded. Cheers.
  12. Just returned from a couple of weeks away and when driving down to Gatwick I had the display set on the Nav screen, as the weather was very poor and dull the screen changed from day time display to night mode, as it changed I noticed that the top 1cm of the map had gone a blue grey colour all the way across the screen, above this band the display was normal showing the usual info but anything under this band was obscured. The map display moved as normal but with the top hidden by this grey/blue band, I changed the display back to day mode and still the same band was there, if I select say radio for example the display is full screen with no sign of this band at the top, it only seems to be when the map is displayed. Anyone had anything similar ? It's just the standard Nav system fitted to the MY17 Estate. Cheers. Neil
  13. Side effects of R ownership ? Well I'm beginning to think " paranoia " I'm a little paranoid about it getting stolen - seeing the posts about how many R's are taken I'm definitely paranoid about where I park it when I'm out so as not to get it bumped or scratched. And I find I have become paranoid about keeping it clean... Other than that I love it.
  14. So from reading through the reply's would I be right in thinking that the estate has no exhaust valves ? If not is there any reason ? I was aware the outer pipes on my estate are just non connected dummy pipes, is the hatch the same ? I'm just coming up to 3000 miles and the exhaust defiantly sounds a little deeper that from new.
