Negative Camber up front. How much?
domdicesare replied to PocketRocket's topic in Modifying your Golf R MK7
I know this is a old thread but I’ve been having a right nightmare getting -2.5 -3 degrees of Negative camber on my 7R. I’ve tried it with KWv2 coilovers and integrated engineering spherical bearing top mounts and the NVH was horrendous car is literally undriveable on British roads, so crashy and noisy. I then tried the 034 motorsport dynamic fixed camber plates which I currently have on now and there is not much difference, still as crashy just a little less noise. They are not pillow ball but have a small rubber Bush, doesn’t feel like it does much though. How do people get on with the clubsport spec Coilover from bilstein or kw ?? Is NVH Still a problem ??? I'm reluctant to go and spend the money if there not going to Improve it. I get sacrifices have to be made, but with those 2 top mount options my car is literally undriveable on British roads. -
As above guys I'm looking for the Sachs part number for the uprated clutch and dual mass for the manual golf 7r. Can anyone help ?? Vrs performance sell it on there website but no part numbers. I have a feeling other Sachs dealers can get this cheaper. Maybe good use to people if we can get this information Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I did think this! I brought the car already tuned however I have checked the boost pressure and it's running 22psi so the turbo is trying hard and drives really smooth. I may get it looked at when my other mods are on but its where to go I'm unsure of at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys... new to the forum and to my golf r had it just 4 weeks and love it here's a few pics of it and what I've been upto with the car. She is stage 2 tuned with a miltek de-cat and many more mods to come in the future [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41] First thing I set about doing was cleaning the paintwork and interior and applying some winter protection.. fusso coat 3m 2 stage machine polish all that swirl removing goodness. https://vimeo.com/193173014 Then I came across a vw helix sub woofer and amplifier on eBay second hand so I brought that, sounds great!!! Easy to fit. Great value for money. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161126/8833442a0ee14216a75278c22e2c7c19.png Today I got it on a maha dyno.. ascarli low torque stage 2 map as I'm still on the stock clutch. Down pipe fitted. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161126/7b2246013a23555b3fd1884d8c359c65.jpg https://vimeo.com/193173719 https://vimeo.com/193174180 343bhp flywheel 305 ftlbs torque Soon to cone will be : Vwr springs and wheel spacers Airtec Intercooler Vwr600 Intake And turbo muffler delete Audi rs4 / ttrs brake kit Front lip Then back on the same dyno to see if I can hit the 360 mark hopefully. I have seen some stage 2 golfs make 400 but I think that's a bit optimistic unless I'm doing somthing wrong??? Thanks for looking. Any cool mods or feedback much appreciated how you have improved your golfs performance.. [emoji106][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That awkward moment when you have thoughts of regret when purchasing your manual 4 weeks ago.. if anyone wants a manual and isn't happy with the dsg get in touch [emoji23] Anyone else owned both versions and which did they prefer and why ? Any reliability differences ??? My driving is 80% road but when I do go to Germany I like to try and set a good time and on the track the car will get a hell of allot of abuse. Yeah that would be good! I'd like to make sure it's set up the best it can be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stage 2 - any downsides?

I went stage 2 and honesty just do it it's great I still have stock intake and exhaust and Intercooler for the moment just: Miltek de cat down pipe Ascarli lower torque stage 2 file 22psi feels so smooth no boost spiking great power delivery no clutch slip on the manual 4K miles done now hard driving. Smells but I can deal with that However I have been experimenting and a decent catch can baffled set up reduces smell massively and doesn't chuck engine oil and vapours back into the intake, most of the smell is blowby vapour due to the extra boost , extra crank case pressure = extra breathing. So £650 370 bhp! All I'm going to do is fit a decent Intercooler for summer keep the engine as efficient as possible and keep it simple. Regular oil changes every 3- 4 k miles followed by all transmission oil changes every 8k. I'm sure in the 3 -4 years you own it it will be fine with correct warming up and mechanical sympathy. And the stock exhaust sounds great with a de-cat no horrible rattles from me yet.. sounds just right! [emoji106][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
