  1. I'm with you there joinery80, I don't think I could own the same car twice. Although I still don't know what would replace it. Dazie, I did consider the 335x but my dad has a 520 estate which I had for a weekend away just before Christmas. The boot space and rear passenger room was abysmal! For such a big car, BMW seem to have magically made the interior disappear! I reckon the Octavia estate I had at the time could easily take 50% more luggage in the boot, and the kids were packed in around backpacks etc. So, that ruled out the 335. The sq5 is a beast. It was out of my reach at the time of getting the golf but I think it's probably one of the few cars I'd really consider next time. The only problem with it is the fact I'd struggle pulling up at a customers office crying poverty for him to look out of the window and see the Audi sitting in the car park. This is the sole reason I didn't go for a touraeg. Totally different car, I know, but the value for money it offers is crazy! For £20 per month more than we were paying on the skoda I could have had best part of £60 grands worth of Volkswagen!
  2. So, it seems there's a natural progression of cars until you own an R. Mine was (the ones worth talking about anyway) Subaru, ST3, Octavia VRS and then the golf. I've had it for a couple of months now, honestly my favourite car I've ever owned but I can't help but wonder what the progression from this bad boy is. I've been wondering for a couple of weeks now and thought that here is probably the best place to find out the answer. My estate has 2 kids seats in the back so it'd have to be something to store the wife, kids and a dog on our adventures. Cheers all.
  3. Hey black dog, I haven't got the patience to sit there pressing buttons. If I'm in it I'm driving it! Ha! Only realised tonight the things got heated seats and that's only cos the sister in law showed me during my showing off to her! I really must read up on what those switches and buttons do!
  4. Tell me about it! Sitting here and the wife's laughing at how much I keep going on about it! She wouldn't know the difference between a Ferrari and a wheelie bin. It's wasted on her I tell thee!
  5. So I had my new golf r estate delivered to me yesterday. It is simply un-believable! I've never been so impressed by a car! I've had decent cars over the years, Impreza turbo, focus st3, and my car before this was an Octavia vrs estate. It takes me back to how the Subaru made me feel. Thing is, i Was early 20's when I had the Subaru and now I'm a bit older I didn't realise it was possible to feel this young again! Ordered a take-away tonight and actually got off the couch instead of having it delivered just so I could drive it again! I got out of it, looked at it and thought, it can't be possible to have done what I've just done in such a low key family estate car! I can't stop telling people how good it is. Everybody should have one!
