I collected my black edition in lapiz this morning. Found some paint work imperfections as expected but nothing major. I think the dealer was getting a little worried. 😂 I’ve clocked up 160 miles already. It’s a beast in race mode. I specced the Akrapovic exhaust, sounds superb in race.

Dealers have no excuse not to provide the key covers and cable if the ship with the car. I’ve read a few post were people have said they got the started covers. Also ask the dealer to stick the rear plate on. @Booth11 You don’t fancy detailing my R do you? 😂

Forgot to take a few pics. Started it up so I could hear the sound of the Akrapovic exhaust. Sound great. Sold my VRS on Motorway earlier this week. Sold for 3.5k over the reserve. Got 7.5k back which has paid for my options. 😂

I was invited by my dealer to view my car today. Took the opportunity to look in the boot. Pleased to see car is supplied with a boot mat and window blind. There was also a phone charging cable and R branded key covers in the glove box. Seems these extras come from the factory. There was a second golf r in the dealers lot. They’ve sold 6 since the start of the year. Mention my car had the biggest spec of all the cars they’ve sold. 😂

Just had word from the dealer. Cars arrived at the dealership. Getting very excited. Hoping to collect the 1st March.

Just had word from my dealer. My car has arrived at the UK port. Should be at the dealership in a week I’m told. BW4 if anyone is interested.

My dealer has confirmed, car has been built and has left the factory, currently on route to the port. BW4 for me. Believe I’ve missed the latest shipment. So assuming it will be on the next boat. Expected to arrive at the dealership in 3 to 4 weeks time.

I enquired with my supplying dealer how soon a vehicle can be registered. His response was once the vehicle leaves the importers, and is on route to the dealership. I don’t believe we’ll be in that position.

Hi all, I've been reading through the posts in this thread. I'm considering buying another Golf R, I owned a Mk7 about 10 years ago which is when I first joined this forum. For those who have placed orders, how many weeks was it before you received your build week? I wondered, if I order a new Golf R now, would it arrive before April 1st to avoid the VED increase. I’m thinking not. What are peoples opinion?

A mate of mine has a similar issue with an M3 on a lease. Got nowhere with BMW finance so took his complaint to the FSA www.fsa.gov.uk and received a large compensation payout. Hope this helps.

One of the most rational posts I’ve read on here. I’d imagine BCA nor VW finance would have the time or resource to scrutineer every vehicle that goes through their auction network. The number of vehicles must be in the thousands.

I’m also interested in a swap pal, will make it worth your while. Are your Prets unmarket and never been refurbed?

Had mine replaced recently, insisted on a VW screen and requested Autoglass send their master tech. Did a good job, can’t tell it’s been replaced, although the tech scratched the scuttle panel with the wiper puller ever so slightly. He didn’t bother removing the scuttle panels, I believe they are supposed to.

That’s correct, transfer of ownership doesn’t actually happen until the lease contract is over, hence requesting a receipt. I figured once I had a receipt I could prove ownership. The car isn’t yours until the money is sent to VW finance. I even asked a mate if I could store the car in his unit if I had any issues, LOL. BCA is a commercial company after all and could get into financial difficulty. I even did a companies house search on BCA to review their accounts, crazy right? BCA told me I could leave payment until two or three days before the lease expired, maybe that’s an option if you’re worried.

Bank transfer, yes it was scary has hell. Double and triple check the bank account details and check again, and again. I phoned BCA 5 mins after the transferring the money and requested a receipt which they promptly emailed me within 30 mins. Paying by credit card gives you protection at an additional cost - £650 if my calculations are correct.

Famous last words!!! A couple of car adverts I was tracking on auto trader of similar spec cars have had their prices reduced by a few hundred quid.
