I very nearly went for one of these instead of getting my R, beginning to wonder now did I make a mistake doing that? I do love my R though but the exhaust bits are so much cheaper for the TCR than for the R... Somebody is selling an akra for an R on ebay wants 5k for it...

Aww he is a cutie! Yes we decided to call her Joy. She is a little snugglebug she litterally runs up to you and wants to be picked up and cuddled she nestles her head under your chin and purrs like mad. Initially Willy was pretty spooked when we did the first peeka boo from behind a door on day 2 he ran off all bushy even though he is 4 times her size. But today on day 3 we tried it again with a peeka boo and he stayed this time more interested in smelling her. Going to try the feliway stuff today hopefully chill him out more then go for a face to face meeting later this week probably around day 6 or 7.

Not a bad idea that I will suggest it to the Mrs hehe....

Yay! You adopted him! I was wondering how that turned out can't wait to see more pictures of Apollo. I think they will get on great together and to be fair the mrs now has a cat she always wanted as this little one is a proper cuddle and a little parrot she loves to sit on your shoulder and purr like crazy. I think they will get on a fine I get the sense that Willy would actually be glad of another feline in the house. Will keep you posted on their introductions together...

Adopted this little cutiepie at the weekend, we are still trying to think of a nice name for her but she's a 14 week old beautiful little girl. Can't wait to bring her home. My other cat Willy (Ginger Tiger) took on a fox twice his size last night, damn thing wasn't afraid of him fortunately I spotted it going on and put myself between Willy and the Fox, managed to scare it off in the end. Hopefully when this little angel comes home this weekend he will find more reasons to stay in and play with her I think half the reason he goes out is because he wants to socialise with other cats.

No. Not anymore now it's 1-2mph over and you get done, got the heads up on a an FOI from a friend of mine who asked what speeds people were being prosecuted at through an average speed zone and Kent Police came back with 2mph over the limit now gets an NIP. Guess I will just have to plump for that little gadget from Japan that jams their radar guns, hide it in the bushes near their favourite spots. Wouldn't be a long term fix but would certainly cause percy some agro for a while much to my own amusement...

I am pretty much thinking that if I get the course yeah that will be the most likely personality running it, bracing myself for a whole day of being talked down to and lectured like a child etc. I try to be supportive of Police as they really have a thankless task but when shit like this happens I just think no wonder everybody hates you because you invest time in this hammering motorists who are already being hammered by exorbitant road tax costs, insurance companies that literally want to penetrate you dry, potholes that are left for years on end until they buckle a rim and somebody has the stamina to launch a claim through MIB. It just gets worse and worse. I do often wonder if people outside the UK have to deal with traffic police as anal as we have here.

Some impressive machines there folks! That Harvester looks like a real handful too! -
Phil I wasn't disagreeing with you buddy I was saying I am one of those people who simply just gives the keys back at the end of the agreement or VT's it. I did have years of owning my own car when I was younger but then I was always buying 1-2k worth of somebody else's problems once I was able to own a new car I did exactly that and then ever since have been doing that because I find it easier. It used to be that cars would depreciate to a point and then would hold a certain residual value for years before dropping further again but now it seems they drop all the time so you never really have much equity to begin with. Here's a horror story for you my 2016 BMW 5 series was actually going to be worth less than guaranteed future value so dealer advised me to VT instead which I did, trouble with owning a diesel that was because when I bought they weren't the enemy then suddenly the Tories decided to wage war against diesel cars that combined with the uncertainty of brexit and the residuals took a steep nose dive. Hence why I moved away from BMW altogether and back to VW because their residuals have always been much stronger...

You do get a sixth sense for sure I have been riding for 10 years all year round all weather conditions and I can definitely say it improved my driving made me much more observant and far less lazy, I am probably one of the few who when in my car still turns my head to check my blindspot rather than lazily sinking forward trying to eeek everything out of the mirror. That being said I have met some real space cadet bikers who ride like they have 9 lives but for the most part we are pretty good people and I do like the the community of bikers and how they stick together whenever I've been sitting at the side of the road on my bike other bikers have always stopped and likewise I have done the same.
-
I have heard of that road now you mention it I think it featured a fair bit on a bike forum I was on, I also witnessed the slow destruction of the cat and fiddle run as more and more riders had ambition that exceeded their talent. I do agree with you that road and track are very different though and yes on the twisties if you've got no technical skill you can have a million bhp you're not pulling away from anything. A point I used to love proving on my 600RR against friends who went straight to r1's and zx10's that they might have me on the straights but in the bends was straight back passed them every single time.

Perfect direction this conversation and one I can definitely chime in on. First off yes I am one of those "stats" that VT's or hands back the keys at the end of the agreement but why? Well to put quite simply because I can. For example this year my 2013 BMW S1000RR Superbike is due to reach end of it's 3 year PCP deal in October, do I want to pay or refinance the 5k to keep it or do I want to hand it back and go look around for something else? Well that would be option B because that bike is a toy and I am not interested in keeping it forever more because Motorcycles are evolving so fast at the moment in 2010 we didn't have abs on 70% of bikes in 2015 it became mandatory and standard to have it. In 2013 When my bike was released there was only electronic suspension avaialble on the HP4 now it's stanard across the S1000RR range so why would I keep something older with less creature comforts when I can have something new for very little down. Now I am going somewhere with this, my fiance is Romanian and she hates the fact that I get PCP deals she doesn't understand them whilst she has her own car on finance she opted for HP because she wants to own the vehicle. Having spent the first few years of her life under communist rule and then dealing with the fall out of communism she has only ever known owning things this whole finance lifestyle is not something she agrees with and I do see her points. However we have this lifestyle that came from the states when the scrappage scheme came in many years ago, up until then it was common to see cars 10-15 years old driving around now you don't see that so much most cars are 6-8 years old tops occasionally you'll see something older but generally not so much. Sub prime finance is on the rise again and that will be the next bubble to pop just like the 100% mortage one did. I work 60 hour weeks for an investment broker in the city so I earn good money that allows me to pay for my car and my bikes but there is also an upside to not quite owning something which is you do have power despite what you think. My BMW S1000RR went into the dealer in the last two weeks of it's warranty and there was an issue with the sump tank it had suffered corrosion (this is a known issue on the S1000RR as BMW used Magnesium for the tank to keep the weight down) and BMW sat on it until the warranty was out then said oh you're out of warranty you'll have to pay for repair. When I refused they then offered to pay half, I refused again and told them to let it sit there I won't ride a bike that is leaking oil simple as, so two months went by BMW came back and said again they would only pay half, again I said no the bike was under warranty when it went in so you'll pay for it all or else you can have the bike back. Another month passed and BMW wrote me an email saying that they would cover the cost of it and I would have my bike back in the next few weeks. Granted I could've done that had I still owned the bike but having the finance on it I had more leverage as they didn't want me returning a bike to them that they would then have to repair and then sell on. So there are advantages to the life of finance providing you know and understand your rights that bit is very important.

I am sure I remember seeing in both France and Spain the differences in speed limits when it's raining compared to when it is dry I am pretty sure in both it was 130kph when dry and 110kph when raining? Did like that idea as yes I have seen many times over whether it be on my bike in my car or whilst driving an HGV in the bad weather there is always some galatic anus in a German branded car tanking it up the outside line with absolutely no idea how to control aquaplaning or just how to corner at speed in general. The amount of times I have come across point and squirt merchants who love to race you in a straight line but as soon as they get to a bend they shit their pants, I see this all the time on my bike they love going fast in a straight line but can't corner for shit so wobble round it then bang the power on again. Track time is invaluable for getting over the fear of corners and learning how to do it properly. Yes they are expensive but to be fair I would say most motorists would learn so much more by going on a track day than they would some speed awareness course IMO.
