  1. Maybe noteworthy? The car was with a disconnected battery for about 3 days. It has no auto start/stop.
  2. Forgot about a water pump - that was also replaced due to a leak.
  3. Hi, I had an intake manifold sensor and a fuel injector replaced. Now the car starts but it barely moves, I guess this is what you call "limp mode". The puzzling thing is that there are no errors about it, it is just very slow. Where do we even start from to get to the issue?
  4. I have a NAR Golf with Discover Media, but I live in Europe, so I want to download an Europe map. I tried everything with DiscoverCare and couldn't get it to work. I read a bit and some people say that you need to "unlock" the software to be able to do that because NAR cars can't have the maps updated for free. If so, how can I have it unlocked? Here are the details of the infotainment: Device part number: 5G0035876 Hardware: 014 Software: 0645 Navigation database: 5g0919866S 0022 NAR 2015 I have the small screen (5.8" I think?) with the borders around the screen if that matters
  5. I have a 2015 Golf R with the Fender Audio System and one of the speakers is making a clicking noise. It is very annoying and I guess it is just time to replace it. However, I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. The one on my right A-Pillar to be more specific, I am not even sure what it's called. Does anyone know where on Earth I can buy this specific one?
  6. Welcome and congratulations! Looking forward to some pictures when you get it! I have only seen a single convertible Mk6 in my life and I have to say it looks very nice! I have never seen a Rising blue one though. Does your girlfriend know it's an R? My girlfriend is scared to drive my Golf 7R because she is scared not to break it
  7. I had my pump replaced and the Haldex is now working great. And I have to say - man, that's a really nimble car. I thought it was even before experiencing the Haldex, but now it is on another level. Great car, loving it! Thank everyone for your responses and help!
  8. This reassures me even more that the AWD is not working currently. Thanks for the info And getting no spin with 402 bhp is impressive! Yes, it was going for a DSG service today anyways Haldex got added after this thread made me realize there is something wrong. My father is a mechanic so it's him who is doing the servicing (can't be bothered with half-assed VW repairs, plus it's out of warranty anyways). He told me that they jacked it up and the back wheels do actually spin, but there is an error reported about some motor related to the Haldex? So it may not be triggering properly. I will post more once it's clear what the issue is. Many thanks everyone!!
  9. I ended up testing by disabling ESC and flooring it from a standstill. Yep, definitely no AWD. That's a bummer.. On the bright side, I was very impressed by how well the car handles. Turns out I have been impressed without the AWD working. I can't imagine how well it will handle if it gets fixed! Anyways, thanks guys. Will post back if it gets fixed!
  10. @Umaar @Ignition1 @gregozedobe I got the car used (around 85k km) about a month ago. The Haldex is the last thing that has not been serviced yet, it will be these days. I expected an error to pop up if it's not working though. What is an easy way to check if it is working on my own?
  11. On my Golf 7R, when I floor it at low speeds (20km/h) with ESC fully enabled, I get a lot of ESC action, it's flashing like crazy. I expected to have some wheel spin, but not that much considering it is a 4motion car. If I go into ESC sport, it does have a little bit of wheel spin, but it feels like the Haldex is engaged and helping out a lot. My question is: does the ESC kick in and limit the power before the Haldex has had a chance to engage, therefore making the Haldex essentially useless for acceleration with ESC fully on, or does the ESC kick in and limit the power after the back wheels lose traction too? Maybe it's just the sheer power of the 300hp that I am not used to making the back wheels spin too much Also, kind of related: when going fast into corners with ESC on, if I floor it, obviously I will lose traction and the ESC kicks in. But after it kicks in, does the Haldex disengage, thus eliminating the advantage of having a 4motion car if I keep the ESC on? I keep the ESC on usually because I am not used to gently accelerating. My old car was barely 150hp so I was used to just flooring it all the time in corners and getting no traction issues (it was also a 4motion one). Obviously, I can't do this in a 300hp Golf without losing traction, so I keep the ESC on to prevent me from losing control, at least until I learn to drive it properly.

    Hello!

Hi! I am new here as well, but welcome from me too! That Golf looks very handsome with those black rims and black skirts and splitters! Also those tail lights are very beautiful, I have a pre-facelift version of the Golf, but have the facelift tail lights as well. I thought about adding splitters and skirts too, but I decided not to because where I live (Bulgaria) the roads are quite bad. I barely get by as it is right now! Anyways, great car!

  14. Platin P73 18x8 ET45 on a Golf 7R Lapis Blue. (included all the keywords for search engines, I was looking to find those wheels on a Golf but could not find any pictures before buying, so I hope this can help someone searching with Google) They also come in silver, may look good with silver mirrors and all the silver lines on the car: https://www.platin-wheels.com/platin-felgen/alufelge/platin-p-73-schwarz-poliert/
