  1. Well no surprises, they couldn't replicate the errors or see any listed in the logs. I have asked if I can use OBD11 to capture errors when it happens again I'm starting to think whether my planned replacement to the 8.5R next year is wise given the 8.5R gremlins thread and VW can't get a grip on things
  2. The errors were Travel Assist is currently unavailable and the emergency SOS one. Yes my son was in the car and managed to get on video I've had it before but not as frequent and the steering wheel was replaced which I thought solved it but as I've seen elsewhere it looks like it's not actually the wheel that causes these errors
  3. Bong fest returned on mine. 6 months ago it was the same and it went in for them to tell me ”something might have been blocking the sensor” come on please. Decided to leave it and a few weeks ago it returned. Every journey it Was constant usually triggered with a turn on the steering wheel its Booked in at the end of the month but since I booked it it the bings disappeared go figure
  4. It really sounds like you and pablo did
  5. Blimey glad you weren’t injured and the damage to pabs wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Did you take him to the place on the A2?
  6. I had dynaudio in my 7.5R, loved it. My 8R has standard audio as it had other options except HK that I wanted. I do miss it, not that I've heard the HK in the 8/8.5R The most beneficial thing of having HK is that the wiring loom is there so there's more upgrade options to replace the sub for not much extra money if you wanted to
  7. Had the same a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't figure out why. The next day it was back to normal
  8. I’ve just taken this out on mine rather than wait til July when the 2yr used car warranty expires so I get the discount
  9. Pretty sure it does this when the you’re pressing the brake pedal then the handbrake is applied
  10. I noticed in my 8R that mine never stopped as it should and it was due to only being used around town for a month or so. After a blast up the motorway it's working as it should again
  11. Parts dept will be going on the part number and what their system tells them. When I bought my 7.5R from a VW garage I asked if it had the haldex service done. The service lady told me yes it's had the automatic gearbox oil change then argued that there was no such thing as a haldex service. It took a colleague to tell her the right one. Even the salesman said he didn't have a clue and good job I knew what I was talking about
  12. I've used VW Canterbury for years with no issues
  13. Ha. First you’re tempting me to the dark side and then the shiny stuff
  14. Didn’t even know he was there ha. I do now 😂
  15. I literally live 5 mins away from there. Looks amazing
  16. I had michelin PS4S on my 7.5R (admittedly running on 19" Prets) and when I got my 8R it had bridges. I've only just got round to replacing all 4 tyres to the contis and wish i'd have done it 18 months ago. For me, equally as good as the PS4S but they cost much less
  17. this is great to hear. My old 7.5R was on 19 press with no DCC and I found the ride too harsh when crashing over potholes. I decided to go for the 18s on my 8R with DCC and the ride is great. When I come to the 8.5R I want 19 Warns with DCC so it's feedback like this is music to my ears 😁
  18. As a current lapiz 8R owner I love this colour. Pablo takes this to a new level, stunning not helping me though in deciding what colour to go for when I come to go for an 8.5R 😆
  19. The Harmon Kardon system in my wife’s x4 is amazing. The newer version x4 I had (for 4 months 🤫) also had HK and the bass wasn’t as good so all car companies are spending less on quality Agreed with dynaudio although not a patch on the HK in my wife’s x4 (which she used to point out regularly 😃)
  20. I regret not waiting to find an 8R with HK every time I'm in the car so my next car will deffo have it. I had dynaudio in my 7.5R which was great. It's not as good in the 8R and I believe the 8.5R but you have the wiring in place which allows you to change the sub over if you wanted to. I've read the older dynaudio/fender sub is a new straight swap if you have HK
  21. No screeching noise for me this morning, thankfully. Just the usual errors on start top which clear straight away
