  1. yeah but i can buy a good reliable ice car for 2-3k grand even less and service and maintain it and keep it on the road myself and there is lots of folk out there who rely on such type of motoring to get by in life hard to see past the end of your nose sometimes
  2. lol i highly doubt that they will be giving them away as 2030 approaches
  3. you own Golf R, an Octavia VRS diesel and a Tesla Model 3 like i said EVs are an option for folk with plenty of disposable income as long as it stays that way, just another option, im fine with it
  4. lol, the lightest tesla model is considerably heavier than a golf R? and my golf R makes a nice sound that i enjoy, if it sounded like a milk float i wouldnt enjoy it no where near as much simple as that, so iam getting a more "immersive" experience as far as im concerned, that why we spend lots of money on exhausts and i like cars you can tinker with, cars you can tune, make them sound better or make them perform a little better you wont get none of that with an EV, its just a stale experience all round owning one but like i said if it makes sense to own one as a daily commuter and they were cheap id own one, its just not something im going to have any kind of interest in like i have in the past with all kind of different cars imagine a car meet or track day in the near future for just EVs, how boring would that be? all exactly the same, all sound like milk floats lol and yes lots of crap is made in china but there isnt any decent cars or bikes coming out of there
  5. electric car out of china? lol no thanks ill maybe be interested when you can get a decent reliable second hand one for about 3 grand, which will be never, but then again at the rate they are depreciating in the uk you never know
  6. im never going EV, reason being i only invest decent money into cars i have a bit passion for and i have no interest in EVs what so ever, theyre not a motor car they are a big electrical appliance on wheels and im quite happy to daily commute in an old cheap motor and i cant see it getting to a point any time soon that there is reliable cheap EVs available on the market for a few grand its a bit of a pipe dream at the minute, its for folk with plenty of dispensable income a good example is the industrial estate where i work, all the businesses putting charging points on their car parks, but there is no workers cars hooked to them lol, its all the company directors porsche taycans and audi e trons etc
  7. mine turns me into a proper dick ill be honest, but then im driving a really slow boring car most of the time, sometimes dont drive it for weeks mainly when i get to use it to go work, some of the best twisty A roads in the country, if its late at night and there is nothing on the roads its in sport manual and gets thoroughly tested, just cant help myself but usually drive like a grandad on town roads, dual carriageways etc
  8. yeah man its all about the tyres my golf R got potenzas on and i also have a fwd 1.0 corsa with some top rated skinny pirelli winter tyres on and the corsa is miles better in the snow in the peak district too so see some decent snow
  9. I can recommend BVR automotive in stoke vw and Audi trained techs with all the main dealer kit they rebuilt my mk6 engine when My chain tensioner failed and cracked a piston amongst other things rebuilt it with forged internals
  10. my mk6 was lowered on coilovers and wheel spacers and the paint got battered because of it, had to have it painted if i go that route with the mk7 them stone guards are a must for sure
  11. price for a brand new genuine one will be daft mine had a brand new genuine cadiz wheel on from vw and that cost a grand for one acoording to the dealer i had the car from so cant imagine what vw would charge you for one pret
  12. ive seen a dash cams i like the look of, not sure how good they are, seem to get good reviews the main reason im liking it is a dual cam that also records all the interior and its mounted with a 360° swivel bracket so can point it in different places, seems perfect for what i mainly want it for would have to hard wire it to the fuse box though, wondering how much life it would drain out of the battery if left a few days
  13. lol, ive had that, park miles away on a car park where there is no cars and some clown parks right next to you they do it purposely, but to do that and then open their door on your car? wow, id have hit the roof tbh
  14. its why i have another car for knocking about in, going supermarkets etc 1 litre engine, £30 a year road tax and that and the R cost about £400 odd a year to insure both dont worry about parking it anywhere, even go the pub in it and leave it there until the next day makes you appreciate your good car more when you use it too
  15. cant fault PS4s, ive not had them on my R yet due to the bridgestones it has on still being ok but used to put them on my GTI and the performance of them is impressive
