Hi I am currently trying to modify my limestone grey 7R. I love the color but I find it quite hard to work with 🙃 bought silver Pretoria wheels couple days ago and waiting for Eibach pro kit and spacers (wanted VWR springs but heared mixed opinions and went with Eibach as the most recommended). The problem is I don’t want to make total dechroming as I like this Pretoria colour and don’t want black wheels. On the other side I don like chrome elements (polished ones, matt chrome are quite ok)🤣 Maybe someone went through such emotional rollercoaster and can help me out TIA

Hey got my 2019 golf R Thursday and had my first spirited drive in it yesterday. when flooring it in 3rd and 5th (only gears really noticed in) the revs jump 500, dip, accelerate about 1000 revs, then jumps another 500, dips back and goes for another 1000. does this sound like the start of clutch slip or something clamp pressure related?

Just bought one of the above from my local VW dealer and noticed I have a space saver spare wheel but no toolkit on top of this with jack / wrench etc? Is this correct or should I being telling them to include one when I pick it up on Wednesday?

07 June approx 1945hrs. I gave way to you at the Scilly Isles Junction - while you came flying down the A307 - you had a female companion with you. I then caught up with you in between the traffic on the A309 - but then you moved to the lane turning onto Manor Road South by the Shell Station and I carried on straight. You on here mate? 🙂

Hi everyone. I realise this might be a bit of a biased forum to come to for advice, and I'm probably going to get shouted down, but what the hell. Need a new car and decided to go for something sporty for the first time in my life, as I can afford it for the first time in my life. I can (just about) stretch to a Golf R, but have also been offered a really amazing, interest free, deal on a Focus ST. Now, I've seen a lot of shade being thrown at STs on these forums, hence my nervousness. However, I do have a bit of a dilemma hence the cry for help. I've test driven both, and the limited data you can glean from a test drive leads me to the following (very personal, and like I say possibly inaccurate over the longer term) conclusions: ST brought more of a smile to my face, I loved the Recaro seats that were more comfortable (for the ten minute test drive, anyway) than the R, it has (in my opinion) better internal tech as standard, cheaper to run and it is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. Set against that, the R is more refined, less in your face, more powerful, 4WD and less 'snarly' so my Mrs could easily drive it without too much concern. I'm leaning towards the R, truth be told, but the extra cost keeps nagging at me, because it is so much. So, question one is: R or ST? If R, question 2 is: what options. Only in-stock vehicles are available, and most of them seem to have loads of options on like leather, etc. I can get one with Pretorias, leather, and a few other options (£4,500 worth) or a much cheaper one that has the Car net option and a couple of other smaller ones (£700 worth). Is it worth paying for leather, etc? Thanks for any help you lovely people can provide.

Hello all, I joined during the week and posted on a couple of threads but never introduced myself in here. I got my 3 door manual R at the start of the month and still getting used to it, loving the power and the odd sideways glance from passer-by's. I've never had a golf before but I did trade in a vrs tdi against the R. I have found some useful info on here and wished I looked in before ordering as I might have order different options. Regards, Ror
