Never fitted spacers before. But looking at my R on standard 19" prets, I think it would really benefit. Am I right in thinking they are legal, as long as the flat tread part of the tyre dosent extend out of the arch? was also wondering what size people have fitted to get them flush with the edge of the arch? I roughly measured earlier and it looks like the rears could do with coming out about 25-30mm (each side and the fronts 15-20mm. Does this sound about right? cheers.

Hi, apologies if this has already been asked /answered, but i only just brought my first Golf and is my first attempt at a forum and couldn't find my specific question anywhere just brought a 2014 GTD / 5Door - question is, it has standard 18inch rims and im looking to get spacers fitted... (around £70 off ebay for 15mm front and 20mm back with bolts isnt too bad i thought)... But- would this cause any issues with standard suspension - dont want to disturb the ride height with springs etc. so would i be expecting any rubbing on the arches or anything ?? Thanks

Evening all, I'm about two week in to owning a bog standard Indium grey Mk 7.5R which so far I'm quite happy with, however, the 'stance' on the 18" Cadiz alloys just isn't quite right especially in the rear the wheel just sits to far in board for my taste I had a 1.8T Ibiza Cupra back in the day which had the same issue so I fitted spacers which did the trick From the research I have done it's a common ish gripe and a 12mm front and 15mm rear seems to be a nice balance. Can anybody recommend a supplier of a good quality hub centric kit with extended bolts and even better post some before and after pics. Thanks in advance 😎

I'm about to get a Golf R so one of the questions is should I get the Pretoria wheels? I love their looks but if I'll drop in a BBK and I'll end up replacing them with ultraleggeras or something aftermarket it doesn't makes sense to spend the extra money twice. Spacers I will not run. So it all boils down to: - Alcons - VWR - any other respectable bbk bbks fitment behind them without spacers.

Doing a search on the forum for wheel offsets and spacer sizes brings up alot of different threads with different information, therefore I though it might be useful to collate all the relevant information into one place and draw a conlusion on the maximum offset/spacer size that can be run without any rubbing issues when your car is lowered. If you are running aftermarket wheels or spacers or both then please reply to the thread so that with the following format and I will try to draw a final conclusion: e.g. Diameter: 18 Width: 8J Offset: et49 Spacer: 0mm Car lowering: VWR Springs Tyres: 225/40/R18 Rubbing Issues: No Cheers, Andy
