  1. Post any tips, tricks, hints or handy shortcuts on the new format in here.
  2. Hello all, like many others, I have had some spare time on my hands, so I decided to install my Milltek cat back, to my Mk 7 estate r. However, on completion I was absolutely gutted that I had to remount the fake tips So I read the forums to see if anyone had found a bolt on tip, to replace the fakes without adjusting the rear diffuser. There was one thread that talked about some carbon tips from aliexpress but tbh they looked crap and were the wrong size and orientation. Anyway after a lot of searching I believe I found possible replacements in the Porsche Macan tips. Has anyone tried this? I’m keen for any thoughts before I spend money. as ever thanks in advance. Golf R Estate, BCS dp, Milltek catback Rick
  3. Hi guys, I've owned my Mk7 R for around a month now and one of the things that has been bugging me is how blackened the two central in particular exhaust tips are, the outer ones are quite shiny still which only highlights this. I've tried cleaning them while cleaning the car but have had very little success. One of my concerns is that the previous owners never cleaned them and they are blackened beyond the point of return. Can any of you recommend any products or techniques that will get them nice and shiny again? TIA
  4. Giving the car a quick wash earlier and noticed the tips are looking a bit tired (especially the inner ones) as you can see, the chrome finish looks like its come away from the lower part of the tip, allowing the soot from the exhaust fumes to become ingrained and look a nasty black. It really wont come off and the metal is a dull grey underneath, not shiney chrome. Is there a fix for this to get them looking fresh again? Dont suppose it would be worth a crack at trying to squeeze some new tips out of VW under warranty?
