I had a shufti Becs, but it looked quite awkward to fit for a decrepit old gadgie like me, so I have decided to pass.🤣 Good to hear that yours has founds its voice, I'll try driving mine in S and S+ to see if it livens things up a bit.

@Nighthawk - sound a bit disappointing? Do you have the standard exhaust, or an akra? EDIT - just seen, yours is a standard exhaust. EDIT 2 - had a look at fitting these this afternoon, I'm not going to bother, too much hasle for an old fogey like me, so I'll stick a for sale post up at some point.🤣 EDIT 3 - Valve controller is now for sale in the forum classifieds.🤣

@Nighthawk thanks for the reply.🙂 My car's only done 1,100 miles so also not very many. I know you were taking your time, but I thought fitting was only supposed to be about 10 minutes!! I think I might hold fire on fitting them for a while (or maybe not bother) given the relatively subtle difference, I think my expectation level was a bit too high! It's a shame there isn't a video of the car pulling away in standard factory mode then with the valves switched to fully open. Anyway, I'll have a think about what to do and I'll report back if I fit them. EDIT. No, not fitted mine yet (also arrived yesterday morning). Were you able to fit the parts without jacking the car up? And what's it like, is it a worthwhile mod!!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we have the drls in the UK and on the Mk7 (physical switch) for example, you could select "side lights" and the rear lights would be on together with the drls. They would also remain on at all speeds. So for the Mk8.5 to get the rear lights on during the daytime, you have to select the dipped headlight option, so this is different to what went before. Thanks.

@R_wannabe_owner - to sometimes supplement the front DRLs by illuminating the back of the car during the daytime in not so bright conditions (lapiz, dark car). In darker/rainy daytime weather, dipped headlights would always be used. @Booth11 - thanks, be interested to see if yours are the same.

@AHG - when I put my sidelights on, the dash says sidelights, but as soon as I pull off the switch changes to auto.

Anyone know how to keep the sidelights on once they've been selected from the light switch. The switch won't select them on the move (only auto or dipped with sidelights) and if I set them when stationery, the lights revert back to auto as soon as I get moving again. Thanks.

Arrived a couple of weeks ago (25/8) unwashed then spent the rest of the day cleaning and polishing. Took the wheels off yesterday and waxed them together with the calipers. Also took the opportunity to spray the front and rear subframes with XCP anti corrosion spray, don't know whether it will work, but better than nothing. Just need to drive it a bit more now.😁

Re. the Lapiz blue/black two tone with a sunroof, here is a link to a video of my 8.5BE which I sold back in January, which shows that combo.

It arrived last week, but they can't deliver it until this Friday, so still waiting (un)patiently for it to arrive.

@Nighthawk - my 2nd Black Edition arrived last week and both cars came with the shades and boot mat, so I now have 2 sets of everything! I haven't fitted the shades to either so I would also be interested to see what they look like.

@Booth11 - I think it's all be said above Becs, but good to read you're okay, that's the main thing. Hope everything gets resolved to your satisfaction.

IMO the akra is not much better. When I checked mine it only seemed to run through one tailpipe (inner nearside) and there was no popping or banging. Maybe the flaps need to be kept open all the time - on the mk7 if I remember rightly they could be coded open, or if you disconnected the flap motor with the flaps open, they stayed open.

Anyone know what this setting actually does and how it works - is it connected to the exhaust to create pops and bangs and does it actually work? Thanks.

Really liking the look of the performance pack version, inside and out. I'm not a massive fan of red (especially Kings), but I've also had MK1 Mars and Mk2 Tornado and I prefer the Mars, Having said that I may well buy one and it would have to be the red or green. Just hope that the PP version will have the warmenaus as an option. The Ed40 looked good in tornado and is arguably the most sort after colour now for that model. Will be interesting to see the UK prices once they're announced.

Congrats on the order and an interesting update - are you in the UK? The email I got from VW was that my build day was 11 June, one week before yours, so I've just emailed the dealer for an update.

For me it's more the look and the fact that they are 8.5 specific, I don't expect that I will notice any difference in the handling etc. Black Edition Bec, so black wheels (I have to confess that I really dislike the diamond cut version, apologies to those with them!).
