I was not impressed with VW Altrincham….. VW Crewe managed to sort mine out - replaced the steering wheel buttons and then did the PV4 update. I did have to prompt them to check the heated steering wheel button was functioning though, which led to the PV4 update

You were right Rebecca, I can toggle between driving modes - the new buttons they fitted are a lot more sensitive than the old ones, so a delicate press is required!

Thanks Rebecca….. will try the driving modes tomorrow. I will also turn off the driving prompts. ( didn’t know you could do that!)

In answer to your question, heated steering wheel does not turn onto lowest setting after stopping, locking car and restarting. I have noticed a couple of other changes since the software update….. the R button on the steering wheel only allows me to select race from the menu, despite pressing numerous times - previously it would scroll through all the other settings. In addition, I now get additional prompts in the dials which I never had before to brake and slow down when approaching reduced speed limits and not to accelerate if you exceed the speed limit (speed limit warning turned off)

No afraid not…. Unfortunately I had to pay for them!

I have not tried that yet, but will check when I am next out in the car. Yes I do have the Performance pack

Just picked up my car after PV4 baseline update…. heated steering wheel button now working and still have sport + …… everything else seems to be working ok too. 😀Even managed to get them to fit some dynamic centre caps while I was there!

I had these errors too when I checked the app earlier in the week

Just heard from the garage….what they have tried so far this week has not worked, so they are going to do the baseline software update on mine too, so won’t have the car back until next week.

Buttons now replaced, when the dealer phoned to say the car was ready to collect, I asked them to check to see if the heated steering wheel button worked…. Looks like I have joined the heated steering wheel gremlin club…. So they have kept the car to investigate further,

Car went in today for the issue…it needs new buttons, which have been ordered and due in tomorrow. Will ask them to check that the heated steering wheel button still works!

My build week changed from week 48 estimate originally… to an estimated week 45… but it was actually built in week 40….. . Car arrived at dealers early November & they kept it until 3 January when I collected it. I did query the extras with them, but they couldn’t explain why they were with the car!

I asked my dealer for one, which they say they have ordered for me… but yet to received it yet!,

Mine was BW40… BE and I received the extras!

I had a ghost on my 7.5…… with the issues with the steering wheel with the mk8 didn’t want to risk it with the 8.5, so I also went with Meta Trak S5 Deadlock. Unfortunately it did not reduce my insurance premium when advising of change of car… hopefully it might make a difference on renewal!

I also used Motorway as their reserve price was higher than CarWow

My spec was:- Black edition White Black 19” Warmenau wheels Harmon Kardon DCC Curtain & side airbags in front & rear Nappa Park assist plus with park distance control Akrapovic Winter package Service pack Perhaps it was because of the winter pack…or the curtain & side airbags?

Me!! ……….Dealer told me they related to one of the options on the car, but I can’t think which one!

You can request a paper copy of the manual from your dealer….. I have requested one…. But have yet to receive it!
