I really do hope you have better luck with the new one. The facelifts look really well and I imagine they are similar to drive as my 20 years. I loved mine but over time that changed as the back and forth to VW and the returning fault got on my nerves so the car had to go.🍻👍🏻

This is the exact reason why I recently got rid of my R 20 Years. Back and forward to VW 9 times over the last year and a half for the engine management light issue. They carried out software updates, replaced sensors, vacuum pumps and harnesses. Lost all love for the car so sold through Motorway. It’s a real shame as they really are fantastic cars to drive. If only VW could get their act together but it doesn’t look like they can at the minute, seems even the facelift cars are having issues. I think the 20 Years will be my last VW for a while.

If you have a blower you could try giving that a try, worked for me removing some dry leaves.

Congrats on the new car, looks stunning. I also have one and love it. The car really is fun to drive in Nurburgring mode, I am sure you enjoyed a we blast on the drive home. Lol

I know on my R 20 Years it takes quite a while for the gearbox temp to register anything until the gearbox warms up. Depending how short the journey is it may not even register anything. I am guessing this is normal behaviour.

They also bought my 7.5 R when I sold through Motorway. I think it may have been Derby if my memory serves me right.

That’s a brilliant price you managed to get. Whoever has bought it is getting a real cracker. Motorway were offering the best deal for me at the time, during the crazy high price period, so that’s who I went with. Local dealer couldn’t get anywhere near itz

Worth having a look at Motorway. Really great experience using them and managed to get a good price for my 7.5 R. Car was collected and money transferred straight away before the driver and car left.

I agree with that as I managed to get £10K off my 20 Years via Motorfinity so a great discount. There seems to be a good discount on the new 8.5 even at this early point and I imagine that to increase as time goes on. If you fancy or need an in stock car then a 20 Years is a good compromise compared with waiting for a new one.

They are still a bargain at £39/40K when you compare like for like spec on the new 8.5 R. Especially price wise. Leather seats, performance pack with the 333 engine and the carbon inserts as standard etc. They may hold their money more over time when compared to a non 20 Years Mk8 R.

I had a hardware issue with my car at the beginning but that was fixed after about 4 weeks back and forward with VW. Had the interior lights turn themselves on and off a few times though but that hasn’t happened in ages. Haven’t had any of the bong related issues that some of the earlier Mk 8’s had.

Is it not possible to order the car through DTD and collect the car from one of the ports, either Liverpool or Scotland? That’s what I was able to do with Motorfinity.

Really looking forward to seeing the pics of the car when it arrives. Your current car is a cracker but I think this new one will be next level. Definitely more aggressive looking at the front, think the black pack and thinner headlights work well.

Those blackened out headlights and black warmenau wheels really make a difference. I think VW have done a good job with the facelift this time.
